Infinite Consortium, Monday
Well, today's shift hadn't started off with a movie about a baby dinosaur losing its mother, so already it was on better footing than the last time Irrim had accompanied Liliana to the store. Then Liliana had the brilliant idea to let Irrim choose what bit of merchandise to showcase in the display window today (thus eating up nearly a solid hour while the girl prowled the store in search for the perfect item), and, once that decision had been made, introducing her to the strategy game go. There was still plenty of time for it all to go south, but, for now, a tentative peace reigned.
She'd take it.
Orazca Relic
Because it's cool, that's why.
Irrim's reasoning behind her choice for display item was a little questionable, but her taste was flawless.

"Magus Liliana, what do you know about metal cabinets that eat people and spit them out later?"
no subject
"Now, now, darling," Liliana reproved mildly. "It's Fandom. The cabinet certainly could have been moving." And now Sairis found himself pinned by two sets of purple eyes. "Well, Sairis? Was it a moving cabinet?"
no subject
"Sort of. It opened unexpectedly and the door smacked me hard in the head, then it somehow pulled me in while I was dazed. I didn't see what happened."

"Irrim," Liliana couldn't have kept a straight face, even if she'd tried--though, to be fair, she hadn't tried at all. But hey, her tone was at least in the vicinity of 'that's not very nice.'
Yes, this was weird for her, too.
The girl heaved a sigh, then looked at Sairis again with a speculative gleam in her eyes. "Do you wanna play chess? I just learned this weekend and I'd like a new partner."

He shrugged. "I haven't played much, but sure." He was suspicious of her newness, for some reason, but losing chess to a prodigy wouldn't be the stupidest thing he'd done this week, after all.
"I'm Sairis. Are you new?"

"A weekend guest," Liliana said smoothly. "Irrim, this is my advisee, Sairis Karkaroth. Sairis, this is my..." a slight hesitation "...daughter from an alternate future, Irrim Vesseren."
"She means that I'm never, ever happening in this reality," Irrim supplied. "Ignis is much better parental prospect than either her or Jace, which is probably why he's smart enough to not."
Liliana considered taking offense to that, but it was all true. "Quite. I take it you were not so blessed?"
"Maybe his kids got eaten by..." She paused, cocking her head and listening to...something. "A loooockerrrr?" She sounded uncertain that that was the right word.

"Even if I were from this reality, I'd be from a different plane," Irrim pointed out. "I was born on Ravnica and grew up on Kaladesh. I'm more from a dimension over from one of those planes."
"It's a Fandom thing," Liliana supplied.
