While there were serious reasons for the holiday that should definitely be remembered today, it was also the unofficial start of summer. And when you had a beach-themed class on the unofficial start of summer, naturally you had to throw a beach party and extend the invitation to everyone and call it work.

Fliers had been posted around town, and Kitty had the beach all set up. The umbrellas and tents from last week were back up if people wanted shade, and there were beach towels available, though there was a limited number of those so hopefully some people brought their own. There were coolers full of sodas, water, and lemonade, because it was for class, but also someone (Tino) had set out one full of beers and hard seltzers, because it was a party. There was also a table full of moddable snacks and salads, and there was a grill out, because while class hadn't gotten to that yet in their second week, this was what you did and people were more than welcome to relieve Kitty of grill duty.

So come one, come all, we're ignoring the actual weather forecast and the weather just so happens to be perfect on this here beach!

Flint would do beach, thank you very much! Not shirtless, of course, he wasn't rude (murderous bastard, yes, rude, no), but he would happily wander around the shoreline looking for interesting shells.

This, was Gregorith's first ever beach party! Well, this kind of beach. The closest they had in the public areas of the afterlife was Cthulhu's realm and that tended more towards rocky shores and grey weather.

~~someday Margaritaville would become a legit realm, in honor of Mr. Buffet, but that hasn't happened yet~~

The black cargo shorts and t-shirt were the closest to beach wear he had, but he was wearing sunglasses and was barefoot, and was on the lookout for a margarita.

"Greg, hello." Jon waved to him. He was in casual slacks and a button-up himself, though he'd taken his shoes off to carry them. "I hope you've been well."

"I have in fact, been well. Keeping busy, realizing demons can have seasonal allergies, you know, the good and the bad. And yourself?"

"I...well. Not...not too bad, I suppose."

~~I'd~~ He'd forgotten class last week, but other than that, no worse than usual.

"I suppose it makes sense you'd have allergies, but it's not a...a fun thing to have in common with humans."

"I agree, but once I realized what was going on I was able to get some remedies from home. Unfortunately I was in the middle of a zoom call with my friend Angel when I had a sneezing fit and apparently she screen-shot it. I expect not to hear the end of that for a while."

"It sounds as though demons don't usually sneeze," Jon said.

Illyana was laid-out on the beach in her bikini, thank you, with one of her ridiculous mystery books, oversized sunglasses, and doing her best to soak up the sunshine.

"What are you reading?" Flint asked.

"A mystery novel, where a thrilling detective has to unravel a chain of murders before more people die," Illyana said, sticking in her bookmark and holding it out to offer it to Flint if he wanted to look it over. "It's terrible and cheesy, but that's my favorite kind of book."

Jon was wandering past and found the party more or less by accident, but he was content to stay if it was allowed.

She does not want to be grilling, fyi.

I slept too late and now I don't want to do anything I was supposed to do.
