Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Steven raced into the Museum. He hadn't meant to be late. But Raphael had been curled up on his lap while Steven had been eating breakfast. Everyone knew you couldn't move a cat when it was comfortable. That was practically against the law.

Luckily Steven wasn't too late. Only a few minutes.

He gave his apologies to Blathers all the same, then settled down to work.

Watts, however, was right on time when he came in for lunch.

"Hello, you," he greeted with a smile.

Steven beamed up at him. "Hello, you. Has Raphael forgiven me for leaving this morning?"

"He made me promise you would return home promptly after work," Watts reported.

"I shall do my best," Steven said. He put out the sign that said he was taking lunch. "Barring any sort of island strangeness that prevents it."

One always had to be careful to allow for such things after all.

"If you require police escort, I am of course at your beck and call," Watts said solemnly, placing his hat on the desk and holding out his arm.

That Steven (or Marc, for that matter, if it came to that) was better-equipped to deal with the dangerous sorts of strangeness Fandom occasionally offered was not the point.

Steven took the offered arm gladly. "Now there's a puzzle. Have you walk me home or come home to you and dinner."

"As your husband, I am happy to do either," Watts replied with a fond smile.

"Both appeal so much, you see," Steven told him. "Tough decision all around."

"Unfortunate that we cannot trust Raphael in the kitchen," Watts mused. "Or I could escort you home and we could come home to dinner."

"True," Steven said. He considered some more. "I think I like the idea of coming home to you and dinner, if that's all right?"

"Of course it is," Watts said, pressing a kiss to Steven's cheek. "Any requests?"

[hasaknightjob]

"Something that smells warm and cozy?" Steven suggested. "Though I'll need to see what we have for lunch so I don't pick something that's like it."

"Warm and cozy," Watts echoed. "Got it."

[hasaknightjob]

"I know it's almost summer," Steven said. "But I like the idea of home feeling warm and cozy to come back to."

"It's nice," Watts agreed, gently bumping Steven's shoulder with his own.

[hasaknightjob]

"With my husband there, making a meal for us," Steven said, bumping Llewellyn's shoulder as well.
