Tick's antennae twitched. The zombies must be closing in. Not close enough yet, though. He'd waited this long to bellow his mighty battle cry. He could probably wait a few more minutes.

"Come on! Why can't the undead be more punctual?!"

As though spurred on by the Tick's battle cry, a hoarde of zombies appeared. These zombies moved quicker, faster. As though they had brains behind the rotting flesh.

With an unearthly moan they attacked the group.

Angelus immediately leapt into the fray, swinging his sword into an arc that sliced its way through five bodies at once. He twisted, ramming his elbow into the face of his nearest attacker, then diving as Illyana sprayed fireballs over the lot.

His lightsaber a blur, Anakin sliced through bodies, and then waved his arm, slamming another ten head-first into a brick without pausing for breath or wasting a thought on how his co-defenders were doing.

He was the blade. He was the living embodiment of anger.

And it felt good.
