After her visit with Red and Duce at Red's shop, Shane figured it was finally time to bite the bullet and swing by the store.

"Hey, Mike," Shane says as she steps inside. She quirks a grin at him, eyes sparkling with amusement. "Nice specials."

Hey, Shane. Good to see you. *nods to signs* It's always good to give the customers what they want. *grins* What can I do for you?

Chuckling, Shane taps her fingers lightly, idly on the counter. "Uhh, do you guys have like a ... stationery section or something? I need to get some stuff for school," she says, arching her eyebrow.

School? You're enrolling? *raises one eyebrow, then both* I suppose this warrants a congratulations. *nods toward back of store* We've got a wide range of school supplies, take your pick.

"Well, thank you," Shane says evenly, letting out a chuckle at the look. "And yeah, I am... as soon as they re-open enrollment." Turning, she glances back over her shoulder, eyes locating the section that Michael is talking about. She turns back and gives him a polite nod and a smile. "Thanks, man."

She grabs a basket from a stack by the door and heads over to the area towards the back of the shop.

"I will," Shane says, glancing over her shoulder at him and nodding, giving him a quick smile. "Thanks, Mike."

She heads back to the school supplies and is there for a quite a long while. She comes back up to the counter with a basket loaded with folders and notebook paper, pens, pencils, erasers and various other supplies she'll need for class, as well as a new comb and a pair of scissors from the personal care section. She places the basket up on the counter and offers Michael a smile as she unloads the items from her basket.

"You'll have to let me know how that homecoming offer works out for you guys," Shane says with a chuckle. "Maybe Deb should do something like that at the diner."

Hey now, no stealing my good ideas. *smiles to show he's teasing* As you're my mother's employee and that practically makes you family especially since my mother makes everyone around her family eventually, we'll give you a discount on this stuff too. *rings in items* That's $15.75.

"Aww, thanks," Shane says, chuckling but genuinely touched by his words. She digs into her pocket and gets out sixteen bucks and hands it over to him. "Really. Thank you. Your mom is a... a really special lady, y'know."

Yeah, I know. *drops quarter into Shane's hand and hands her the bags with her purchases* See you around. Maybe we'll stop by the diner tonight.

"Yeah, that'd be good. Do that. And - I promise I'll serve you guys, myself, this time. Last time you guys came in, I was ... kinda busy," Shane says with a chagrined look. "Take care."

Chihaya raced in the door, out of breath. "I am so sorry I'm late," he said trying to slow down from being in a hurry. "I'll put my bookbag up and I'll be right out to work."

Don't worry about it. It's been a slow day. *points to signs in window* Just so you know, we've got a couple of specials running. You might want to start with inventory on the ammunition shipment that came in yesterday. Somehow I get the feeling Homecoming will be a bang -- literally. We might as well be prepared.

"Yes, sir!" Chihaya chirped and headed to the back to count boxes. He maked a note to make sure to get homecoming tickets. Even if Kagetsuya couldn't come, Chihaya might still go, even if he went by himself.

So are you going to homecoming, Chihaya? It sounds like it's going to be fun. I didn't go in much for school dances myself, way-back-when in high school. If I'd gone to a school like this... *shrugs* then I might have.

"Probably. I'll have to go by myself since I don't have anyone to ask to go as just friends," Chihaya chewed on the end of his pen as he ticked off boxes.

I'm sure you'll have fun anyway. Other people you know will be going, right, so you wouldn't be all alone?

"I do and I think I'll have fun. I've been so wound up lately, I'd like a chance to relax." He grinned and shrugged. "If I could just talk Kagetsuya into coming, then I wouldn't have to worry about a date at all, but he has to work."

That's too bad. But I'm sure you'll have fun anyway. After that zombie weekend from hell, you deserve some fun.

Chihaya grinned and nodded enthusiastically. "Are you guys coming? It's open for the townspeople to go to as well?"

*shrugs* I hadn't really thought about it, but we really should get out more. Maybe I'll check it out.

"You should!" Chihaya said cheerfully, his pen waving. "Get out and meet some of the other townies, maybe even drum up more business with the students!"

*Paige walks in, she notices the sign and looks a little happier than yesterday*

So how many packets do I get then? *she jokes*

*grins and winks* As many as you want.

*notices Paige is looking happier* Life's looking up, then?

*Paige smiles* I don't think they had condoms in Geoff's time actually and I'm not sure I want to have that talk with him. I'm on the pill anyway *Paige pauses* sorry I have no idea why I told you that!

And well things aren't better exactly, but I'm trying to keep busy and I know he's coming back now.

I have more money by the way, figured I'd drop it in before I spend it *she hands over another $100*

*pretends he didn't hear the TMI information, but blushes anyway*

Glad to hear he's coming back. Will he be back in time for the dance?

*takes money* I'll be sure to keep my eye out for the delivery guy tomorrow. Wouldn't want anything bad to happen to that dress.

*Paige shrugs* I'm not toally sure about that on yet, guess I'll find out on friday *she takes a deep breath suddenly not feeling so happy*

Thanks a lot *she's about to leave, but turns back* Oh I need to order some paint too, something sort of deep red?

What kind: Wall paint? Furniture paint? Fabric paint?

*pulls out sample books for all types of paint* We have a few colors that lean more purple, and a few that lean more orange. I like the royal red myself, it's an understated but regal color.

*Paige smiles* Wall paint, I was after a sort of burgundy color, but the royal red looks nice. It's for a bedroom, you don't think it'll be too much do you?

*Michael eyes color swatches for a moment*

How big is the room? If it's pretty small, the royal red won't be overwhelming, and the burgandy might make it seem even smaller. If it's a decent-sized room, I'd go with the burgandy -- it's a little more subdued, and that much royal red might be too over-the-top. Unless, of course, you want over-the-top.

*Paige looks through the colors* The room's pretty big, but there's a lot in it. Maybe I should go with the burgundy. Geoff said I could do what I wanted, but I want him to like it. *she sighs* maybe I should just wait til he gets back.

I can put in an order for both colors -- it wouldn't hurt to have paint on hand in the store -- and you both can pick out which color you want when he gets back. Sound good?

*Paige smiles* Would you that'd be great, hopefully he'll come with some money, if he doesn't going to the 14th century to have words with the guy that summoned him!

Fourteenth.... *suddenly it dawns on Michael what Paige has been alluding to...not that time travel was nearly as worrisome as the fucking zombies that raided the town* Er, yeah. Long way to go just for kicking some ass, but I suppose you do what you have to, right?

I'll put in the order now, just come in when you're ready to decide on a color.

*Paige looks at Michael slightly worried* Sorry, it just kinda seems normal to me now, but I guess it isn't really is it?

*She smiles* And believe if one hair on Geoff's head is out of place I don't go where I have to go to kiss ass! I'll cme back with Geoff sometime yeah. Thanks

Heh. Remind me never to piss you off. *grins* But I understand completely -- I'd go to the ends of the earth and then some for Ben, just like he would for me.

We'll see you tomorrow then, hopefully the dress will arrive on time.

*Paige smiles* Yeah love makes us want to do stupid stuff huh? Thanks Michael, I'll see you tomorrow
