Luke's Diner - just after sundown

Veronica and Angelus enter the diner and take a table in the corner where they won't be disturbed.

"Thanks so much for agreeing to do this," Veronica says once they're settled. "I really hope these articles help."

"Happy to do it," Angelus told her. "I sent that email out. Looks like a good response so far."

"Good, I'll start with your guys then, and go from there. I know there are some mutants on campus and I've heard rumors of aliens. Hopefully people will come forward and volunteer to be interviewed after the articles start being published."

"I've met one alien that I know of," Angelus said. "But I don't know if they're out with it. I'm sure you can understand not wanting to betray a confidence."

"What can I get you?" Luke asks, walking over with an order pad. He raises an eyebrow at Angelus, but doesn't say anything. He still hasn't quite gotten over the whole blowing up the diner thing from the zombie attack.

Angelus considers the menu. "Got anything in a nice ribeye? Rare?"

"Yeah, you want mashed potatoes and green beans with that?" he asks.

"I'll take a burger, fries & a milkshake," Veronica says.

There's a spark of something in Veronica's eyes when she listens to his story, but she simply responds, "How many vampires do you think there are in the general population now?"

"That's actually something I've been curious about myself. Lo - " Angelus caught himself before finishing the name. He gave Veronica a look of apology then said " - you're not the first to ask me that. We tend to hide and not take a census, so I don't think anyone knows for sure. But I've been talking to Prof. Epps and we're going to see if we can't find a way to make an educated guess using math."

Veronica gives him an appreciative smile, because she realizes who probably asked him that question. She pushes aside her concerns over why he asked though.

"Okay, this is probably going to sound stupid, but I take it there's not central governing body over vampires, then?"

Cameron passes by the diner, he looks in through the window but doesn't see Vala and moves on again. This town is way too big.

[notices Cam pass by and, after he leaves, whispers "you can come out now, Vala, he's gone]

Veronica's call was omg the best thing that happened to her all day a pleasant distraction from Ethics class and moral relativism. Beka checked her watch before stepping into Luke's. Plenty of time before she had to meet Camulus to catch a bite to eat and chat with V.

She noticed V and Angelus hadn't finished talking, so she took a seat by the window and waited.

Veronica noticed Beka and her heart started beating faster she smiled and waved.

Beka couldn't help but grin at the cheerful wave. It made her glad she'd agreed to miss class how could she not have for that pretty smile?.

After Beka orders from Luke, Veronica walks over and sits down.

"Hey, I guess you got my message?"

"Hey." She shrugs apologetically. "Couldn't get through to your cell. Figured I'd just take a chance and show up. Hope that's OK?"

Angelus gave Beka a nod of greeting as he left because his player is trying to finish the rest of that story ;) .

Luke walks over to take the newcomers order.

"What'll you have?" he asks, distracted, before noticing who it is.

"Oh, it's you, Glitter Girl."

A-hem. I'd like a grilled hamburger sandwich with some french fried potato garnish, please.

She thinks.

Luke looks at the... person?... who has just entered and ordered. Deciding he? she? it?... has the spaceship girl beat, he writes down the order and goes to the back to cook.
