Geoff looks around curiously as he walks into the movie house. From the expression on his face, it's not what he was expecting. He stands near the door, obviously waiting for someone.

Becky spots Geoff and saunters up, tucking her hands in the pockets of her jacket.

She had decided to go with a slightly more conservative look than usual for the evening, and had traded in her leather in favor of a soft black knee-lenth skirt and white shirt, both worn under a black trenchcoat.

"Hey, you," she says, grinning.

Geoff turns at the sound of Becky's voice. "My lady Becky," he says, kissing her hand and then her cheek. "You look lovely."

Becky smiles. "Thank you. You look nice, too. How was your day?"

"Ending better than it started, with a great deal of slothfulness in the middle," he answers, grinning. "I'll tell you about it, if you agree to explain this --" He waves his hand at the concession counter and its chaotic medley of popcorn, soda, candy and light-up menu board.

Becky laughs. "Um, that's where you can get like, snacks and drinks. Like popcorn and candy and stuff if you want. It's...bright, isn't it?"

Geoff nods. "It is that."

He begins to ask Becky what exactly 'popcorn' might be, when the shiny red puppet pops up.

*hovers up behind the Concession Counter*

Well, hello there. Can I get the lovely couple anything? Chocolate, Popcorn, maybe some Hamdingers?

"Hello," Becky says, staring. "You're...shiny."

I polished myself this morning, thanks for noticing! You're looking particularly monochrome this evening, if I may say so.

Geoff raises an eyebrow at the puppet, and leans over the counter to see where its player might be. Not seeing anyone, he looks back at the puppet again.

"Ah...not to be rude but -- what are you?"

*if Servo had eyebrows, he'd raise one*

Never seen a robot before, huh? I'm Servo, Tom Servo, co-owner of this fine cinematic establishment.

So, any consumables on the agenda for your movie-date experience?

Shaking his head, Geoff says, "No, I don't actually even know what a 'robot' is. Other than, apparently, something of which you'd be an example."

He looks around at the concession offerings. "What is 'popcorn'?"

Geoff and Becky settle into seats in the theater.

"So now what happens?"

"We wait, and then the lights go down, and the screen shows us a film," Becky explains. "Sort of like a play...but not."

Nodding, Geoff says, "Someone told me a little bit about that. Like...pictures, rather than a live play."

He picks up a piece of popcorn and taste it. "Well, not like any sort of corn I've ever had, but it's good." He smiles at Becky.

Becky grins. "Yeah, the water in the corn makes them pop when heated. I remember that from school. Try a gummi bear," she offers, holding out the box.

Geoff picks out a red gummi bear from the box. After chewing for a minute he says, around a mouthful of sticky candy, "'R y'chur 'sfood?"

Becky giggles. "The texture takes getting used to. But isn't it yummy?"

When he's finally able to speak again, Geoff replies, "It is good. Although I can't imagine what it could possibly be made from. Tree sap, maybe?"

He looks up at the screen as the opening credits begin rolling. "Huh. The pictures move."

Becky nods, and grins. "Ooh. It's in black and white! That means it's old, and plus, very awesomely familiar."
