A Rennaisance Faire

Overnight, tents have been set up thoughout the park. The entrance to the Festival is a large archway that leads you to a costume room. You must be in costume to enter. Period isn't important, and the basic costumes are Ladies in Waiting, Lords, Maids, and Cavaliers. If you'd prefer something else, dig for it...it's probably there.

A short row of small tents is set up for merchants. If you'd like to sell something, claim one, but if you claim it, it must be manned, not NPC'd.

Keep our town clean! Use the garbage cans.Mind the Belthazor shaped crater.

In the center of the park is a huge tent. In front of it is an arena with rows of swords and armor. There will be a tourney, and it is live steel. You are responsible for planning duels if you choose to do so.

Inside the tent are long tables. Snacks and drink are availible all day. The formal banquet will be served formally at dusk.

At the end of the tent is a dance floor. To the side is an area for the minstrels.

Several places throughout the festival are thrones. CJ welcomes you to her birthday party as Queen and Hostess. Enjoy yourselves!

Kawalsky had been looking forward to the festival. He came out of the costume tent dressed as a court jester, complete with goofy purple and black jester hat.

Rodney finds one of those boofy hats with a plume stuck in the brim. He supposes it's a minstrel's hat, or maybe one of those merchant-type hats.

Either way, it'll do him, and he crams it on his head.

Deb and Carl come, already dressed in what they wore for Halloween. Carl has bundled his lady into several extra layers, made her tie the chemise at her throat instead of flaunting her cleavage, and put both a coat and a cloak on her.

"Well, sweetheart, if you insist. I still don't think you should be outside."

"Nonsense. I feel fine."

"If you say so. But you start feeling bad, I'm taking you straight home."

Shep shows up as ... he isn't sure what. He knows red and purple are 'royal colors' so whoever he is, isn't dirt poor. Maybe a scribe or a scholar of some sort. He'd debated find a suit of armor, but a.) that invited even more rude remarks than this get up would and b.) it'd be awkward as hell to walk around in all day.

Lorne shows up with the zombie band in tow. Lorne is dressed in his usual flamboyant manner, but the zombies have made an effort by dressing up in period costumes.

Wesley drops the outer clothes and the staff in a corner and smuggles the kitten into the buffet line. The kitten expresses its approval of some roast chicken. He grabs a piece of breast, checks for bones, sits down in a corner, and tucks the kitten on the bench beside him. The kitten expresses qualified approval.

Wes tried to find somewhere private. Red velvet is hot, even in autumn, and he desperately needs to get some air down in between the layers before he dies of a cataplasm.

He slips behind a tent, undoes what seems like a hundred laces, and strips off the doublet. He is now down to a large red plumed hat, poofy white-ish shirt (velvet runs when wet), tights, and an enormous mass of cape, which he tries to bundle into a mass. He is still struggling to turn it into a neat package when he hears a noise.

It's a tiny mew. It's repeated. He wonders for a moment if it's the thrice-damned library assistant; whoever it is, it sounds frightened. He sighs. Cat or hound of hell, it needs help.

[She's parked in the throne, watching the festivities. Everyone's having fun, and this is pretty much the first moment of peace she's had.]

It was a pity that Wilson was about to shatter that peace. He'd held it together getting out of the shop, locking the door once again before dashing across the street to the Park.

The festivities were huge, huge and busy and Wilson was beginning to despair that he would find CJ.

A snippet of conversation, a comment about Queen Elizabeth I and her throne had the oncologist turning away from the direction he'd been headed and he shouldered his way through the crowd back towards where he'd heard the thrones were set up.

Thank God, CJ was nothing, if not distinctive.

Out of breath, face pale from exhaustion and stress, Wilson twisted around a fancifully dressed couple and called out to her.

"CJ!" Forget the pretending to be professional, he didn't give a fuck at the moment.

Stopping a few feet from the throne he walked quickly towards her, sticking out like a sore thumb in his regular clothes.

"CJ, I need your help."
