Aziraphale's Rare Books, Thursday.

Kiki opens the shop in the morning.

In her down time, Kiki is still assiduously studying a spell book.

Finally, rubbing her hands together, she nervously faces the picture window at the front of the shop and concentrates, muttering under her breath. She grins widely when a festive evergreen garland materializes slowly, twining decoratively around the window.

Kiki frowns. Instead of the sprigs of cheery red hollyberries she had intended to have created, sprinkled tastefully throughout the garland, there hangs instead several glaringly chartreuse and purple avocados. And that hanging from the corner is definitely a cantaloupe. Having not yet mastered the more tricky reversal of the spell, Kiki sighs, hands on her hips, then pulls over a chair, climbs up on it, and starts pulling down the avocados. Mundane clean-up will have to do.

"I hope Mr. Aziraphale and Mr. Crowley like guacamole," she mutters to herself. "So much for festive holiday decor."

EDIT: Mr. Aziraphale is decidedly better at getting rid of abnormally-colored avocados than Kiki is. There are no more avocados appearing from nowhere, but there might be the odd one or two still rolling about.

Bel took a seat in the lounge and waited for Aziraphale to return. He felt something against his back and shifted forward in the chair, looking behind him. How did an avocado get there? He could've sworn it wasn't there when he sat down. Picking it up, he turned to set it on the table...and saw a pair of avocados there that hadn't been there before. Huh. Weird.

After a quick detour to the kitchen, Aziraphale steps into the reading lounge and sets the tray on the table, next to four green and purple avocados. He raises an eyebrow at them, and sits down.

Reaching across to pour for Bel, he makes a little exasperated 'huff' at the eight avocados on the table, which promptly vanish. "Tea, my dear? Or would prefer something else?"

"Just water is fine, thank you," Bel said, noticing three avocados on the floor next to his foot.

Aziraphale eyes the six avocados on the floor next to Bel, and spots another pair trio under the coffee table.

"Oh, for Heaven's sake!" he mutters, waving a hand irritably at nothing in particular. The avocados, however, take this as a sign to remove themselves to their natural plane of existance, or ring of hell, or wherever it is that oddly-colored multiplying avocados come from.

The angel hands a teacup glass of water to Bel. "Scone?"

Idly wondering where the avocados have gone (and relieved as well), Bel nodded. "Thank you," he said, accepting a scone.

He took a sip of water, then asked, "Is it okay if I ask you a kinda personal question?"
demonbelthazor: (Am so innocent -- really)

Happy that Marty wasn't working for a change, Belthazor wandered into the store and approached the counter. "Hey, you're a witch, right?" he asked Kiki.

"My girlfriend's a witch, kind of a beginner though," Belthazor said. "I've been poking around for a good book for her on magical components for potions and spells. Herbs, gemstones, stuff like that. Can you recommend one? It's going to be a Yule present for her." He smiled charmingly.

Bel took note of the titles. "Thanks for your help," he said. "Guess I'll have to wait to buy one though if only Aziraphale has the key. I'll hang out for awhile to see if he shows up." He looked at Kiki's book. "How's that one working out for you?"

Han's in a really foul mood as he stomps his way around campus and town this short afternoon. He realizes he's never been in the bookstore and so wanders in.

"Hi, Kiki. Is this where you've been keeping yourself?"

"Looks like you're busy rounding up the fruit." The coloring on the avocados doesn't phase him. "I just stopped in to warm up."

"Thanks, doll." Han wanders thtough, stuill amazed by paper books. he likes them. likes the feel and smell of them. But they're such anachronisms.

Hoping the exercise of the walk would do his leg more good than harm, House made his way to the book shop. It took a while, his steps slow and not as well paced as he would have liked, and he almost wished he'd picked up the crutches instead of the cane.

He was grateful for the warmth of the shop when he stepped inside, eyes scanning the area he could see, looking for Aziraphale. He'd be annoyed if Phale wasn't around, but it would be his own fault since he hadn't called first.

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2005-12-01 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckily, there's no reason for House to be annoyed because Aziraphale is indeed in the shop. At the moment he appears to be happily shelving books, humming a little under his breath.

[identity profile] gotcanewillpoke.livejournal.com 2005-12-01 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
He's used to approaching people and getting in their faces, maybe waving the cane around or at least drawing attention to it to get what he wants. Somehow, he doesn't think that would be the wisest approach with Arizaphale, and not just because he knew Wilson would disapprove.

Seeing the familiar figure stocking the shwelves, House stands at the end of the row and taps his cane on his shoe. "Would probably be a cop out to say Wilson sent me."

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2005-12-01 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Except that I suspect he did, my dear," Aziraphale answers cheerily, setting the remaining books in an empty space at the end of the shelf and turning to look at House. "I'm glad he's finally decided to be sensible. Would you like to sit and have some tea with me? I think the reading lounge is empty right now."

[identity profile] gotcanewillpoke.livejournal.com 2005-12-01 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
House nodded. He was so very unused to this asking for help thing. And even though he hadn't ask, and really didn't need to ask, per se, it weighed heavy on him.

"Tea would be wonderful." He admitted, almost eagerly. Tea was a close second to coffee on ihs list of small comforts.
