Lorne hits the stage looking mighty dapper in his new hat and tie that he's gotten as Christmas presents.

"Ladies and Gentlemen? Let's start things off with a little James Brown!"

Veronica sits at the bar, drinking a Diet Coke, and wonders if tonight will be busier than Friday.

She sure hopes so, because she's bored.

[ooc: I tried to wait up for you - but I was too tired. Maybe we can RP it via email tomorrow and set it before the club opens???]

"Hey Veronica," said Piper as she wandered over to the bar. She cringed slightly, remembered the last time she was at Caritas. "It's quiet in here so far, huh?"

"Yeah. I guess a lot of people are out of town for the holidays already," Veronica said. "What brings you by?"

"I came here to see you, actually," Piper answered. "I haven't given you a Christmas gift yet. Figured I'd do that now because I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to see you again before break."

She paused for a moment. "Maybe I'll sing, too. I'm not promising, though."

"Awww," Veronica said. "I'm just glad I'm not hanging out alone tonight. Lorne's busy doing whatever it is that he does and this place has been so quiet. It was like this on Friday, too. Luckily Logan stopped by and kept me company that night."

"Well, I've got nothing else to do, so I'll keep you company tonight." She raised an eyebrow. "Logan stopped by?"

"Good," she said with a grin. "Especially since you said you brought a present."

She paused, wondering why Piper said it like that. "Yeah, he was working on his journalism final."

"Oh, yes, I did say that," Piper said, smiling. She dropped the subject of Logan for the time being. She pulled a small wrapped box out of her purse. "Remember when I said I didn't have many friends at my old school? I didn't really have a best friend either, besides my sisters."

She handed the box to Veronica. "Basically, you're the first best friend I ever had."

"Awww," Veronica said, opening the box to find a half circle with the word Friends on it.

She leaned over to hug Piper.

"This is the sweetest gift ever. Thank you." She immediately put the necklace on.

"You're welcome," Piper added. She pulled the other half with the word Best written on it. "And I have the other half."

"You sure it's not too sappy?" Piper said, grinning.

"Not at all," Veronica assured her. "And I assumed you had the other half."

"So, are all your classes done yet?"

"Yep, have been since Friday actually. I just hung out in the dorm today, reading. Oh, and Angel stopped by to introduce me to his new puppy."

"I had my last class today. Had to turn in a paper for my language class." Piper glanced at Veronica. "Angel has a new puppy?"

"When are you heading home for the holidays? And when are you coming back?"

She grinned. "Yes, and he's so adorable. His name is Sean and he's black and just so cute. And apparently he's also, like, a miracle worker, because Angel told me that he and Logan had a civil conversation last night when Angel had Sean outside."

"Friday. Maybe earler," Piper said simply.

Piper blinked. "Angel and Logan had a civil conversation? Is that possible?"

"I'm heading out Friday, too. But I'll be back next Tuesday."

She nodded. "Yep, that's why I said maybe the puppy is a miracle worker."

"I'm not quite sure when I'll be back. Depends on when Phoebe wants to return, I guess."

Piper laughed. "Maybe it's a magical puppy."

Veronica nodded.

"How bad is it that my first question was to ask if it was Crichton?"

"Not a bad question at all," Piper giggled.

"Angel told me I wasn't the first one to ask him that, either."

"I'm sure you weren't."

"It's starting to scare me how normal phrases like 'So-and-so was turned into an insert-animal-of-choice' and 'Oh, she was bit by a gremlin' are becoming."

Piper laughs. "Only at Fandom High."

Mystique steps up to the bar to ask for a Coke with a shot of vanilla syrup. She pays for it immediately and thanks Tino when it arrives. She sits, looking around to see who else might be there.

Sit and listen!

Sing your little heart out.... Not literally though. Tino would have to clean it up and it would make him cranky.
