Caritas - Open [Wednesday]

Veronica heads back to Caritas after her conversation with Angel and is surprised that no one else has put up the post yet Jarod and Lorne are no where to be found.

Luckily Tino has recovered from whatever he and Lorne were doing all day prepped the place, so all Veronica has to do is change the sign to open.

She sits at the bar and hopes that there will be people in tonight to distract her from her thoughts.

Jarod rushed into work, threw his coat in the direction of the rack, and walked quickly to his spot behind the bar.

"I'm sorry I'm late, Veronica, but my mun had some last-minute shopping to do my new kitten escaped from my room just as I was leaving, and I had to search the entire Sin to find her so I could close her back in before I left."

"How's your day been?"

"No big deal. Classes and finals are over, so I was early. And my day was... interesting. I stopped by earlier and gave Lorne his Christmas gifts. Did he talk to you about going to New York?"

"You must be glad classes are over." He smiled, then looked a bit confused. "New York? What about it?"

"He said you got him show tickets for Christmas and he wants to take us on a road trip."

She grinned. "And yes, I'm very glad classes are over."

Veronica blinked. "Um, when a group of people gets in a car and drives somewhere," she explained.

Angela plops herself at the bar. "I need the strongest Cosmopolitan you can make and for someone to tell me what's going on," she says.

Veronica blinks.

"Angela? What are you talking about? You know Lorne doesn't serve under age. And when did you dye your hair?"

"Underage? I've been of age for, like, five years," Angela says. "My ID is just ... not here. God, I haven't even been carded in months.And my hair is not dyed just highlighted."

She blows out of the corner of her mouth.

"And how did you know my -- let me guess, you think you went to school with me?"

"I do go to school with you. Were you bitten by a gremlin? Should I call Marty?"

Jarod began mixing the drink. The woman looked somehow familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on why. "What's going on with what?" He placed the drink in front of her.

Angela gives Jarod a grateful look and drains half of it before she talks. "Thank you," she says.

"It's like this. One second, I'm in Starbucks. The next, I'm in some weird library, and there's a giant white ball. Then I'm dumped in the middle of this town where I haven't been in ten years, only some girl is telling me she went to high school with me last week. And all these high school kids seem to know my name."

She makes a face. "This must be the most elaborate practical joke ever. And I don't like practical jokes."

Marty walked into Caritas in a foul mood. He'd all over campus and town looking for Angela. He received a phone call from Mars saying she was here, but there was no one.

Seeing Jarod serving someone at the bar, Marty walked over to see if he had seen her.

"Hey Jarod. Have you seen Angela?"

John sits at the bar a ways down and orders a Cherry Coke from Tino or whoever's working and looked at the girl-no, woman-down the bar. It looked like Marty's girlfriend, but different. Hotter.

Wonder how she handles an AK?

After the *very* entertaining sight of library book retrieval being carried out by Zero and Janet, Parker headed over to Caritas, Esme in her little tote bag, her bags trailing behind her.

"Hey. I'm not staying up all night talking to you before I leave again. But I wanted to say bye."

"Uh, Parker? I think we have a problem." Marty says nodding his head toward Angela.

Parker turned, then blinked. "She's gone brunette? Wait. That's -- " She squinted at Angela. "That is not *our* Angela Chase, is it?"

"Parker," Angela mutters. "Oh, god, the mean rich girl without a first name? You're asking her to help?"

Marty huffed in frustration. "She also works in the library and might know something about what's going on. That's where you were when you... whatever happened to you."

Marty looks at Parker. "Yes Parker, IT's not *our* Angela. She's... older."
