Empire Records and Bidet [2/9]

Lucas opened up the store and then went back to his desk, and the growing pile of notes by his laptop.

Today's music: spy themes. The soundtrack of "AKA" is included.

He didn't want to go even close to Empire Records but he figured since he needed it for Music, he needed to get an interview; albeit from a normal person, or what seemed like one. Sawyer sauntered into the shop, taking a quick look around for anyone named 'Marc or Mark' just in case. Not seeing anyone with that name he approached the other guy at the desk.

"Uh, hey. I need to get an interview with someone about music. You seem like the right guy." his Southern twang was deep, he leaned against the desk.

[identity profile] conathon.livejournal.com 2006-02-09 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Sawyer pulled out a small notepad and a pen, "What kind of music is popular from where you come from?" he cocked a brow, pen ready.

[identity profile] conathon.livejournal.com 2006-02-09 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"What kind of instruments are basically used in those kind of genres?" he inquires, scratching down what the guy had said earlier.

[identity profile] conathon.livejournal.com 2006-02-09 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do you have an example of your favorite genre?" Sawyer asks as he writes down the last of what the guy says.

Sawyer rolls his eyes, stuffs the notebook back into his bag and puts away his pen, "Thanks for nothing. Jackass." he mumbles as he leaves the shop. Oh well, he got what he wanted anyways, it was good enough.

After Sawyer

Paige wandered in looking a little distracted, "Hey Lucas, this might sound like a weird question but erm do you have music from like the 14th century?"

She looks at him then smirks, "no really? Did they not have CD players back then?" she asks trying to keep as straight a face as possible, "they must have had music back then though right? Gergorian chanting monks or something? I mean they had minstrels in court and stuff. I was just hoping there was something that was written back then or something."

"Thanks Lucas," she replies heading over to the section and not casting a dreamy eye over at the listening stations, not at all.

She returns a few moments later with the CD and hands it over, "I'll just take this for now thanks, and did you have much luck with the fliers about work?"

"Well I would have listed all those things but then you'd not have anything to throw back at me would you?" she asks with a smile. She liked Lucas so far, but then he didn't know about her little witchy secret, that could probably change things

She laughs just a little at that, "see, I aim to please," and yes she is aware that could be taken any number of ways!

"Not that I can think of, I expect I'll be back soon enough though," she replied, not that she'd be able to listen to CDs where she was planning on going.

She nods, "good luck finding more staff," she calls as she walks out.

After Classes...

Sam walks in and starts looking through the bins for an Indigo girls CD.

There's a good chance that a Mariachi band is following him.

The Gomez Brothers wave to Lucas as they get in, still in a great mood. They find a good spot, and then launch into the following:

Oh-oh, yes I’m the great pretender
Pretending that I’m doing well
My need is such I pretend too much
I’m lonely but no one can tell

Oh-oh, yes I’m the great pretender
Adrift in a world of my own
I’ve played the game but to my real shame
You’ve left me to grieve all alone

Andreas was really getting some nice yodel action going on "alone", there.

"Do you have the Indigo Girls? Rites of Passage?" Sam yelled over the noise of the Mariachi band.

Finishing up with "The Great Pretender", the Gomez Brothers consult their playlist, and come up with their next song:

There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow

Secret agent man, secret agent man
They've given you a number and taken away your name

Sam sighs. "I'm sorry. This is my punishment for pulling a prank. They won't go quiet, but they can do a slower tempo."

Hearing the words "slower", Martin signals that they should take it down a notch on the tempo.

Beware of pretty faces
that you find...
A pretty face can hide
....an evil mind
Ah, be careful--
what you say--
Or you'll give...
yourself away
Odds are you won't live
.... to see tomorrow

Secret agent man,
secret agent man
They've given you--
a number--
and taken away
your naaaaaaaaame...

Mournful. Sad, sad, secret agent man.

"Yes. It's not for me. It's for my roommate and her girlfriend."

"No that's it," Sam says with glaring look at the mariachi band. "Better hurry before they start another song."

Sam quickly pays off Lucas. "Sorry for the disturbance"

Sam then makes a break for the door in hopes that he can outrun the Mariachi band.

The Gomez Brothers are used to being driven out of places, running; so keeping up with one kid who only has a store-length head-start is nothing. Andreas even manages a little bit of La Cucaracha on the trumpet as they speed after Sam.

"Mr. Blank! Don't forget, we need to finish our playlist!"

Hearing "flamenco", the Gomez Brothers step it up, and add Spanish Heel steps to it:

Swingin' on the Riviera one day-- And then layin' in the Bombay alley next day!
Oh no, you let the wrong word slip!
While kissing persuasive lips!
The odds are you won't live to see tomorrow!
Secret agent man, secret agent man! They've given you a number and taken away your name!

Secret agent mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
