He soon discovers that he doesn't actually like Descartes and starts playing Yahoo!Pool instead.

Nadia came in sometime in the mid-afternoon, with a nervous expression. She'd managed to keep her conversations with her boss brief since she discovered he might know something about the craziness that was her history, but today she had to ask him a favor.

"Hey, Lucas?"

Lucas looked up from his laptop and smiled. "Nadia. You do know it's not Sunday, right?"

Nadia shrugged. "Yeah, I, um, I need to, um, Ineedtoaskforanadvanceonmypaycheck."

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "You get paid on Sunday. This Sunday."

"Yeeeeah." Nadia chewed at her lip for a moment. "But I need the money more like, now. Or tomorrow morning, at least."

Lucas frowned, concerned. "What do you need it for? Are you in some kind of trouble?"

Pippi wandered into the music shop just as the Ramones I Wanna Be Sedated started up.

She looked at Lucas and pointed up into the air.

"Who's this?"

"They played that at the Valentine's dance, remember?" Walter said, wandering in behind Pippi.

"Yeah, I didn't catch the name of the band."

"Ah, alright. I was not actually sure how much of the dance you actually remembered," Walter said as he went to look for something anything that he'd both like and which had been made sometime in the past decade.

Lucas watched the two for a few moments before stepping out from behind the sales desk. "Can I help you find something?" he asked Walter.

"That's a good question. I'm looking for modern music someone raised in the 30s and 40s would like."

No, he was most decidedly not remembering that he'd had more than one embarrassing moment in this store.

Lucas tilted his head, and reminded himself not everyone grew up basically in a music store.

Some may have actually grown up in caves.

"The Ramones."

Or on tall ships in the middle of the ocean.

"Do you have more of them?" she asked.

"Of course." Lucas gestured her towards the section housing the Ramones, as well as the Clash and the Sex Pistols. "How did you like Flogging Molly?"

"The Band! Yes, I liked it very much! I came back and Marty helped me find their other albums, thank you." She grinned.

Lucas nodded. "Of course. I'm glad you liked it."

Victor came in a few minutes after the duo because school + mean LJ = *flails* and decided to look around as his friends shopped. He paused near the poster rack and began to thumb through it.

Lucas was a bit startled to see another student come in; he'd gotten used to things being slow at the store.

Not that he was complaining. The green kid was a good customer.

Boone entered the store, pausing near a small display.

Lucas was debating being pleased at being interrupted while reading Descartes and being annoyed at being interrupted while playing internet pool to avoid reading Descartes.

The result was that he kinda just stayed behind the sales desk and watched this new customer blankly.

Boone finally got around to noticing Lucas. "Hey," he said hopefully as he approached.

Lucas snapped from blank to the vaguely bored air of a professional indie music store clerk. "Can I help you?"

"Yeah." Boone nodded, "I wanted to buy this CD. And, uh, do you think you could do me a huge favor and tell me what music is like where you're from?" He looks almost pathetically hopeful. Like a lost puppy or something.

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "I'm from New Jersey. It's mostly rock and hip-hop up there. What's it like where you're from?"
