"A course it's me!" Veronica said, shaking her head. "I want some juice please. And Archie wants a drink, too."

She turned to look for Archie. "Come on, Archie! Weevil will get us something to drink."

Archie scampered over with his toy boats. "Weevil?" He giggled. "That's a funny name. But he seems nice!"

He looked up at Weevil. "I would like --" He was going to say a mug of ale, but was vaguely aware that none of the other children were having ale. "I would like some juice as well, please."

"Yeah, I get that a lot. Especially from the radio," Weevil said to Archie. "What kind of juice would you like?"

"Orange juice," Archie said, nodding. "Oranges are good. They help prevent scurvy!"

He bit his lip and swayed uneasily from side to side. "I didn't mean anything awful by it on the radio."

She frowned at Weevil. "You 'pologize. You made Archie feel bad. And I want apple juice."

"I'm sorry," Weevil said to Archie, trying to sound genuine. He didn't want any kids crying tonight.

He handed each of them their orders.
