Baldrick could (with some effort and much sounding out) read. So it only took him half an hour to decipher the note for him that he found stuck to the front window of the shop. The note said that Mr. Blackadder was not feeling well, to open the shop, and clean up that mess by the picture frames.

If there was an occasional sound from upstairs, that really wasn't his place to get nosy about, was it?

Baldrick set up his easel next to the register and sat down to finish his masterwork.
