All and Sundries: Saturday Afternoon (After events in the park)
| | Walter opened the door to All and Sundries and wrinkled his nose at the smelly man they'd been using to keep their cover. "I had a message from Mr. Blackadder. You're to go out to the causeway to wait for a delivery of snipes. I'll mind the store until then." |
| | Baldrick shrugged and put away the abstract painting of "Turnip on the Halfshell" he'd been working on. "If that's what Mr. Blackadder wants..." He trotted out of the shop, pushing past anyone else who might be coming in the door with a smile and hello. |
| | Adella crinkled her nose at Baldric as she went in but gave a half hearted wave. Maybe it was the way he wore his pants on backwards, but there was just something about that guy... Besides the smell that is. And the boils. And pretty much everything else. She slipped her hands around Walter from behind him. "Aisle 3?" |
| | Nadia was only a couple moments behind, and more confused than ever. All and Sundries? Why were they going there? And why was Baldrick leaving? What the hell is going on here?! She paused a moment before going into the shop. Something was very, very wrong here. And, dammit, Pippi and Walter were two of her closest friends and she'd be damned if she didn't try to help fix whatever the hell it was. |
| | Adella heard Nadia enter the shop and turned her head as she did. She rolled her eyes. "I suppose you two should... Chat?" she said with a small smile. She slid her hands off Walter and she stepped back and then walked past Nadia, heading for the door. |
| | "Chat." That could be entertaining. Walter strolled into aisle three and glanced over his shoulder at Nadia. "Well?" |
| | Nadia glanced over her shoulder towards Pippi. This had been exactly what she'd wanted, to get some answers. So why was she suddenly pretty sure that she never should have gone looking for Walter in the first place? She had, though. She wasn't going to back down now. She followed Walter. "Tell me what is going on." |
| | Adella did not leave the shop. She closed the door softly. Stop! Just kick her out! Leave her alone! Oh I'm sorry my chick-a-dee. But this gal is one of the people who know you best. And we simply can't have her running around knowing how seriously abnormal the situation is. At least, until we leave this place. I have a boat! I'll show you how to sail it. You can leave right now. An interesting offer. But I think our boy would like to have some fun just now. She reached out to lock the door. |
| | The sound of the door locking wasn't exactly loud, but it did seem to reverberate through the store. Nadia's head swung around as her heart rate picked up. This might have been a very bad idea. |
| | Oh look, a defenseless back presented to him. Walter picked something off a shelf and was suddenly standing right behind Nadia. She smells good. Leave her the hell alone! |
| | Adella calmly lets the shades down. STOP! STOPSTOPSTOPSTOP! That's really starting to get on my nerves. She's standing there now. Frozen. The shade for the display window halfway down. |
| | Nadia might have noticed Pippi's moment of hesitation. . . . Were it not for the fact taht she was too busy noticing the fact that Walter was suddenly standing very, very close behind her, and not in a good way. "Please, just tell me what's going on." |
| | Don't touch her! Don't hurt her! Let her go! I can't do that. She'd tell. Walter remained motionless staring down at her, most of his expression hidden behind his sunglasses. We had a deal! The deal said nothing about a bit of bloodless play. |
| | Adella's hand opened, letting the shade fall the rest of the way down with a bit of a clatter. STOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOPSTOP!!! Cut that out! No! I'm going to get control of my body and I'm going to make "Walter" get away from Nadia. Give it up. NOW. You'd hurt your friend? He'd understand. You'd never be able to keep me down for long, even if you could take control. Long enough for her to get away. To bad it's not going to happen. Other then that, there's no outward movement. |
| | Nadia flicked her gaze from Walter to Pippi and back again. She took in the paleness of Walter's skin, the sudden height change. . . . "You're . . . you're not them, are you." She suppressed a shiver. "What did you do to them?" |
| | Now I really can't let her leave. The boy's response was nonverbal, more an expression of frustrated rage than a coherent thought. "What makes you say that?" he asked aloud, reaching to touch her cheek with a cold hand. |
| | Nadia's heart was doing some rather interesting gymnastics in her chest. She was less successful at surpressing her shiver this time. "They wouldn't . . . you wouldn't. . . ." She managed to take a single step backwards away from him. "What did you do to them?" |
| | "He's here," Walter said, forcing another step forward. The boy was too angry to marshall his attack properly; he needed to learn to think more clearly when those he cared about were threatened. Not that Walter was going to give him lessons. "Don't you want to give him a kiss?" |
| | TURN. AROUND. NOW. I won't. Let you. I'm going to stop him. No. Yes. Very slowly, she turned around and started walking stiffly over to Nadia and Walter. |
| | "No," The word came out at a whisper. It had happened. The dream. Oh god, he'd become a monster. "No!" She raised her hands to shove him back. "Let him go!" |
| | Walter caught her hands, looming closer over her and smiling to reveal an elongated canine. "No." On the inside, the boy's rage was starting to give him a headache, but that was easily ignored for now. |
| | She couldn't breathe. She just stared at Walter, her mind screaming one continual denial. She tried to tug her hands away. |
| | Oh, the girl wanted him to let her go? He didn't look away from Nadia when he spied motion behind her, instead, he let go when she gave a hard tug. |
| | Pippi caught Nadia as she stumbled backwards as a result of being let go unexpectedly. In the process, her sunglasses were knocked off her face, revealing red-rimmed green eyes. She held her friend gently and started to set her back on her feet. "Nadia." |
| | The gentleness of the grip startled her, and Nadia flinched automatically, shaking herself out of Pippi's grip. She had no way of knowing if this was really Pippi or not, any more. "Stop it, don't touch me," |
| | A visible jolt runs through Pippi's body and her eyes begin to glow purple. I win. "Oh, but we're such good friends." she said in a deeper, more mature voice. "Now let's hug and make up." Adella made a grab for Nadia's wrist, being neither gentle nor careful. |
| | Nadia gasped as she felt the bones in her wrist grind together. "Pippi." |
| | "Almost." Adella answered pulling Nadia around to toss her back at Walter. "But not anymore." |
| | The bone grinding turned into a sharp, flaring pain as an odd, muffled snapping sound echoed through the store. Nadia gasped again, unable to stop herself from getting flung back to Walter. |
| | The snap was loud to a vampire's ears, precipitating another snap behind his eyes. The boy caught Nadia gently, his face shifting from amusement to anger in a blink. He shot Adella a glare and turned his body to shield Nadia from the fairy. "Run!" |
| | Nadia cradled her arm against her chest, staring up at Walter. "What?" |
| | "Real quick on the uptake, isn't she?" Adella rushed forward at Walter. |
| | The boy gave Nadia a push forward, away from him and down the aisle away from Adella. "Run!" There were too many demands on their shared mind for Walter or the boy to react to Adella's action; she pushed him forward, sprawling into the shelves, sending duct tape and bathtub caulk flying. |
| | Nadia finally got the hint. Whatever had happened to her friends, they were fighting it. And they were going to need help. More help than she would be able to provide. She ran down the isle, still craddling her arm, turning up aisle one to head back for the door. |
| | Adella grabbed a roll of duct tape. Tossed it into the air, caught it, and then chucked it at Nadia's head. |
| | As far as weapons go, duct tape didn't usually pack that much of a wallop when thrown. When thrown by someone as strong as Pippi, though. . . . The roll caught Nadia on the back of the head, sending her stumbling into another display. With one arm broken, she couldn't catch herself in time, and she slammed into the shelves, bringing down an arrangement of turnips all around her. She felt something give on the right side of her chest as she hit the shelves and the floor, and nearly blacked out. |
| | Walter righted himself and strode down the aisle to pick up Nadia. He wasn't gentle and he wasn't taking any care with her broken arm. "Upstairs?" |
| | "Yes." she said dusting her off. "I think that's best." I will find a way to get you out of my body. Stop. No. Don't touch me. ... |
| | Nadia wasn't entirely conscious, and thus not entirely certain what was going on, but she was pretty damned sure it was bad. She struggled weakly against Walter's grip. |
| | At least she isn't a screamer. Walter was mildly disappointed when the boy didn't rise to the bait. "Bring the tape." With that, he carried Nadia up to Blackadder's flat, where the man was still mummified. |
| | "You read my mind." she said, grabbing some more. Then he also knows what I'm going to do to you if you keep hurting Nadia. Booga booga. |
All and Sundries is closed.
[ooc: That Nadia, Pippi, and Walter went into the store and Baldric came out is okay. All else is NFB. All players are gone and not available for interaction]]
