Caritas - Open [5/25]

Veronica didn't do much of anything today and she's actually in a relatively good mood as she checks the zombie band and gets everything ready to open Caritas.


[should be mostly around, though I may try to *gasp* go to bed at a decent hour (which would be 11ish EST)]

"Not too bad, Weevil, how are you?" Veronica asked with a grin.

"Doing all right," Weevil said. "I hear you started teaching already. How'd that go?"

"Pretty well," Veronica said. "Aside from Cameron and Bel being complete smartasses."

Veronica laughed. "No. But I did threaten them with detention."

"You can give detention? Good thing I'm not in that class then," Weevil joked.

"Yes, I can," Veronica said with a smirk. "And you're right, I'd have definitely had to give you detention within the first five minutes."

"Probably," Weevil said with a grin. "How was Neptune? Is it falling apart without us?"

"It's not bad," Veronica said. "We didn't spend a lot of time actually in Neptune," she explained. "I had my orientation on Friday and then on Saturday my dad took us to a Padres game and on Sunday I took Archie to the San Diego Maritime Museum."

"Not spending time in Neptune was a wise choice I think," Weevil said. "You and Archie must be serious if you took him home to meet your dad."

A little sheepishly, Archie slipped into Caritas and sat down on his usual stool with an apologetic smile for Veronica.

"Hello yourself," he replied. "I'm so sorry for worrying you. I'm fine, honestly."

"We need to work on that phone thing," Veronica said lightly. "And I at least knew you were okay as of Tuesday when I heard you on the radio."

She leaned over the bar to kiss him.

Archie smiled and cupped Veronica's cheek as he kissed her, then asked, "Did someone walk you home at least?"

"I walked back with one of the new girls, Kaylee," Veronica said. "And I had my taser, so no bears or teal deer would mess with me."

Archie chuckled. "I worry about you a little bit less when I remember you carry that thing. Just please tell me you didn't have to use it."

"It went pretty well," Veronica said. "Bel and Cam were smartasses, but that's about as surprising as water being wet. How about you? Did you make it to your workshops this week?"
