With the luau thing going on at the school, GOB took his time getting over to Caritas. He figured it would be a slow night anyway.

Elliot had a mun was too intimidated to think about the luau post was feeling sad and a little melancholy.

And when you're already sad and melancholy, adding alcohol to the mix is a great idea. She went to Caritas and signaled for a glass of white wine.

"I'm sorry, miss, but I'll need to see some ID," GOB said. He didn't, but it was slow tonight and he was bored.

Elliot beamed as if he had just told her she had cured his cancer. "That's so sweet," she said, handing over a driver's license. "See. 29."

"Huh. I wouldn't have guessed that," GOB said. He was figuring 28. "And this isn't a fake?"

"Hey, Tino, white wine for the lady!" Tino brought the drink over, rolling his eyes."

"Of course not." Elliot's smile faltered. "Is it the bangs? Do I have bags under my eyes or something?"

"Huh? No," GOB said. Turn on the charm. That lead to better tips. "There's just no way you're twenty-nine. Twenty-five maybe, but I don't get why you'd claim you're older."

Sadly, flattery worked well on Elliot. She is blonde, after all.

"Oh, I -- it's just a habit I got into," she claimed smoothly. "If you're young people don't take you seriously."

Becky was bored.

So was Jackie-bird.

That would be while there was a monochromatic girl with a white dove on a little leash on her shoulder sitting at the bar. "Hi."

"Hi, Becky," GOB said, grinning. Then he noticed the bird. "Hi, Jackie-bird. Don't peck me?"

"What can I get you?"

"I would like a martini," Becky decided. "With an olive and one of those tiny swords, because Jackie-bird needs a weapon just in case."

The dove in question cooed menacingly at GOB.

He couldn't believe he was arming a bird. "So, what brings you out here tonight?"

"You could always just grab a bunch of the girls' socks, throw them in the dryer, and see if anything happens," GOB said. Tino brought the drink over. "Does that sword work? We also have them in pink and green."

"It totally works," she said, picking up the wee sword and offering it to Jackie-bird, who ignored it. "And if we did that with the socks, the dyes would run."

"Who's Rory?" Elliot asked. She was still a little distracted, trying to decide whether the coloring was strange makeup or a skin condition. "I'm Elliot."
