The Park: Saturday Morning

Blair sat on the ground in the park, leaning against a tree. He had meditated for a long time this morning, trying to decide how he felt after the battle in Flight and Flying class. Finally he had finished processing and looked up at the branches gratefully.

"Thanks, man! You were a big help today." Blair bounced up and gave the tree a hug, thinking of Marie's comment the other night. "We really should have a tree-hugging day. This is really relaxing."

"Visiting an unfortunate classmate, or just showing general appriciation for the flora of the island?" Sakurazaki was suddenly there, appearing from behind the tree, one hand against it's bark. She looked a little tired, mostly because of lack of sleep and then venturing out early to practise ninja-ing around town. If there was anything that she was able to keep conclusive about last night, it was that she couldn't let it effect any of her training. In fact, for her, it meant she had to train harder.

Blair jumped a little at the sudden apperance. "Hey there Setsuna. Just saying thanks to the tree. You should try it, it's really nice."

She grins slightly. "Thanking it for what? Doing only what it can do?" And the moment after it's out of Sakurazaki's lips, she reconsiders the fact that, right, Fandom. There was a good possibility that this tree could do other things than just sitting there, cleansing the air and providing shading and homes for cute baby birds. Her eyes widen just a little, and she gently pats the tree. "Actually, you're right. Way to go, tree. You're doing a great job."

Blair bounced and hugged the tree tighter. "Yeah, way to go tree!"

He smiled over at Setsuna. "See, doesn't that just make you feel happier?"

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it actually does. She laughs a little lightly, a little strangely. "Yeah; yeah, it kinda does..." It also probably helped that her happiness, although perfectly reigned in and composed by her stoic demeanour, was already at the level of delirious.

Alfred was out on his morning walk when he saw the two students thightly embracing the tree. He smiled and nodded to them as he passed. "Good morning."

Of course, Sakurazaki nods in return and offers a "Good morning, sir," back.

"Hi Alfred!" Blair waved. "Would you like to hug a tree?"

"From where I'm standing, that tree appears to be getting more than enough love," Alfred said. "I'm Alfred Pennyworth, by the way," he said to Sakurazaki. "I'm not sure we've met."

"I don't believe we have. I'm Setsuna Sakurazaki." Smiling, she completes the introduction with a slight bow of her head and shoulders.

Clark's walking in the park again. He does that.

Blair's hugging a tree. He does that.

"Hey, man!" He bounced and waved cheerfully.

Clark did a double take. damn hippies He waved back. "Hi."

"I don't think I've met you before, man." Blair bounced over and stuck out his hand. "I'm Blair Sandburg, I'm a Sophman up at the school. Or a Freshmore. I haven't really decided yet."

Clark shook his hand. "I'm Clark Kent, the new manager of the Arms Hotel." he introduced himself. It took him a moment to decipher what Blair had just said.

"Awesome, man! I *handwavily* worked there once. How's things going? Is there a lot of hotel business? Are you new to Fandom Island or just to to the hotel? Have you seen inequalities since you've been here?"

Clark blinked. "Inequalities? No I can't say that have. And there's steady npc tourist business. Mostly at the moment they seem to use the hotel as a home base on their way to the attractions on the mainland. I've been in Fandom for, about a month now, only recently got the job at the hotel."

His brow furrowed. "Tell me, what did you think of Mr. Crowly, the previous manager?"

"Honestly, I didn't actually meet him in game didn't know him very well. But I heard on the radio that Kiki and Crowley hung out a lot and Kiki was nice...so there ya go!"

Blair frowned a bit. "Really? None at all. That stinks."

Now Clark was confused. The boy wanted inequalities?

"Kiki?" he asked.

"Small girl. Had a cat. Rode on a broom. She left a while ago." Blair shrugged.

"I guess I should explain a bit. I'm doing an article for the school newspaper on equality issues that we have here at Fandom, but so far I haven't found many. Which is a good thing...it just makes for a lousy article."

"Hey, you just gave my friend Ranma a job!" Sakurazaki was still lingering by the tree and being afk and suddenly feels the need to interject herself into the conversation. "I hope he doesn't disappoint."

Clark smiled. "Oh I'm sure he'll do just fine Miss." Clark said. "He seems very enthusiastic and friendly, and those are both good qualities when working in a hotel I'm sure."

"Yeah," she beams a little. Then, after a moment, Sakurazaki realizes why he looks familiar. "Aren't you the gentleman who took care of that duck with the kamikazi bandana?"

Clark suddnely realized that he'd met this girl before!

"Why yes!" Clark said. "It flew into my head."

"Is that what happened?" Her eyes are a little widened with concerned. "How did he do after that? Did he end up being okay?"
