The Park: Saturday Morning

Blair sat on the ground in the park, leaning against a tree. He had meditated for a long time this morning, trying to decide how he felt after the battle in Flight and Flying class. Finally he had finished processing and looked up at the branches gratefully.

"Thanks, man! You were a big help today." Blair bounced up and gave the tree a hug, thinking of Marie's comment the other night. "We really should have a tree-hugging day. This is really relaxing."

"I hope he hasn't flown off," she says. "That'd be rather sad. Assuming that the two of you have gotten along. I should say that he should get along with you, since you pretty much saved him."

"Hmm, I don't know. It doesn't seem quite him. He was wearing a kamikazi headband remember. Maybe something more asian, or like a warrior's name."

I'll name him Ranma!

More consideration. He did have a very good point about the kamikazi headband.

Sakurazaki gasps as inspiration strikes her. The ultimate kamikaze! "You should name him Saigo!" She beams.

She grins wildly. "Chosen for Saigo Takamori, who lead a group of samurai against the new Meiji armies in the Satsuma rebellion of 1877." Sakurazaki bows her head reverently. "It was truly a massacre, but they died for something they believed in."

Sakurazaki beams, dreadfully proud of herself. It wasn't every day she got to honour a duck with the name of a hero of her heritage.
