Luke's Diner [5 PM FHT]

Rory had done good work, as usual, and the diner was decorate with blue streamers and balloons.

But no glitter. That's what Jaye was for.

Anakin grinned. "That's true. But an event with Gilmores and no coffee? It's a world gone mad."

"This entire thing is enough to drive me right around that bend, yeah," Anakin said, nodding. "And that's before you add in caffeine deprivation."

Anakin grinned. "I'll bet they do. You want to go look? I'll cover you."

Looking around, she creeps towards the counter.

Anakin, as promised, watched for anyone in the crowd that might be trying to stop the search for coffee.

Given the group of people assembled, he was pretty sure Jaye was safe.

Jaye gets to the counter, and ducks behind it, staying low in case A) anyone sees her, or B) she sees coffee hiding on the shelves.

Her hand might come up over the counter as a sign for "I don't see anything", though it might look more like her deformed rabbit shadow puppet.

Anakin blinked. Her hand gestures bore a striking resemblence to Obi-Wan's signal for "Drunken Step-Dancing Gamorreans."

"What?"

The bunny-hopping becomes more insistent. Or maybe the Gamorreans are really getting down.

Anakin scuttled behind the counter, landing next to Jaye. "What?" he repeated.

"I don't see anything back here," she hisses. Doing the deformed rabbit thing again as if to say see?

"That's what your signal meant?" Anakin burst out laughing. "Yeah, I wasn't getting that."

She looks at her own bunny. "What'd you think it meant?"

"Something about step-dancing Gamorreans," Anakin answered. "Which are something you'd need to be warned about but aren't likely to be found here."

"They're um, 400 pound pigs, basically," Anakin said. "Who can't hold their alcohol. Thus the hand gesture."

"'Holy crap, here they come!' also works," Anakin said, grinning. "But it's not terribly diplomatic."

"Well, if they're that drunk, they might not mind the not-so-diplomatic part," Jaye giggles.

"And the other diplomats appreciate the warning, too," Anakin replied, laughing. "But it tends to break up the decorum of a cocktail party."

"That's what I said," Anakin said, still laughing. "Any party where the Gamorrean delegation is dancing has lost its sense of decorum a ways back."
