Lana got to the bookstore a little early today. She straightened up around the shop in a cheerful mood and got ready for any customers that might happen to show up.

Junkyard, after workshops Wednesday

Tyler leaned against a tree in a clearing on the edge of the junkyard, fingering the fireworks in his pockets a little nervously as he waited for River.

He had dragged over a beaten, overstuffed chair and rimmed the clearing with rocks. He even remembered swim goggles.

After all, safety does come first.

Here would be one Xander Harris, with a gym bag over his shoulder because he believed things like 'you'll only be gone a day from your POV' like he believed 'it probably won't rain pudding tomorrow.' Standing just inside the doorway to the coffee shop with a half-drunk cup of mocha in his hand, and a Bridge Carson next to him. As you do.

After opening the store, Seras sat behind the counter and perused a copy of the school newspaper that she'd handwavily picked up on her way to work.

She remembered Blair's interviewing her for his article, so she read it with some interest.

Then blinked and read it again.

Right. After work, she was going to have a talk with 'Dalter Wornez'.

All and Sundries is open.

In an unprecedented move, Zhaan opened the shop during the day. She'd briefly considered hanging out in the garden, but decided her accountant's ever-present urges to actually conduct business should probably be heeded.

As there always was, with plants and herbs and spices from beyond the grave stars, there was dust.

Zhaan set to with a will and a brilliantly-coloured feather duster.

Cafe Fina, Wednesday

Never let it be said that Cafe Fina's kitchen was not spotless. No. Really. Never let that be said. Walter has the toothbrush to prove it.

The restaurant opened on time despite all appearances to the contrary with Wadsworth running the lunch shift, and Walter taking the dinner shift in his spiffy Swedish flag tie.

Lucas opened Empire and propped his feet up on the sales counter as he sat back with his account books and a notebook, trying to work out how to make all the red disappear.

Without, you know, just writing over the red in some other color ink.

Jarod put in a pair of earplugs as he opened the bar--the constant wailing sax was getting on his nerves.

He took them out before he let the customers in, though. No sign of Tino, but at least he wasn't still camped out on the couch.

Today was Midsummer, so before opening the shop, Luna decorated it.

She might have used magic for all those pretty yellow bows and ribbons. She might have used only her hands to hang the ivy and fairy-lights. Where there's a witch, there's a way.

Next, she set up the candy shark bowl and restocked the gumball pyramid.

Her artistry finished, and sweets in their upright and locked position, she opened the doors and set about to find a wireless set.
