Today was Midsummer, so before opening the shop, Luna decorated it.

She might have used magic for all those pretty yellow bows and ribbons. She might have used only her hands to hang the ivy and fairy-lights. Where there's a witch, there's a way.

Next, she set up the candy shark bowl and restocked the gumball pyramid.

Her artistry finished, and sweets in their upright and locked position, she opened the doors and set about to find a wireless set.

A little after Luna had finished, Wonka entered the shop. He looked mildly confused to see her, then brightened. "Ah, miss Luna!"

"Happy Midsummer, Mr. Wonka!" Luna greeted.

"Indeed," Wonka agreed. He looked around. "Ah, decorations! Very well done."

"Thank you. I'll remove them when I leave for the evening." Luna said as she moved a tray of sweets to the proper case. "How are your latest round of experiments coming along?"

"Oh, excellently, thank you!" Wonka attempted to look modest. It failed very much. "There are of course still some snags to be worked out, but I feel very confident that I shall soon have it worked out."

"That is fantastic news." Luna moved a few more trays and asked, "which of these is your favorite sweet?"

Wonka pondered, tapping his gloved hand against his lips. "Why, the little bananas (http://pics.livejournal.com/wonkacandyshopp/pic/00016kby/g6), I believe. They are very summery, I feel, so they are my favorites today. Have you found a favorite today?"

Luna paused and tilted her head to the side. "I was quite fond of apple rings (http://pics.livejournal.com/wonkacandyshopp/pic/00019gtt) the day before yesterday for they had just right amount of tart and sweet for this time of the season, but not today, no."

"Good choice," he complimented her. "The day is still early, I'm sure you'll find a delicious sweet by the end of it. Ah, and now, if you'll excuse me, I must go back to my experiments."

Luna waved farewell to her employer and returned to, well, those things which kept her employed.
