Empire Records and Bidet [7/28]

Lucas opened Empire in the most uninteresting way humanly possible. It wasn't even interesting in its extreme uninterestingness.

Seriously.

Today's music is . . . somethin', he doesn't care. . . .

Can anybody say "ennui"?

[ooc: still at work, so SP is the name of the game.]

Brunt stepped through the doors and sneered.

"Where is the owner of this. . . establishment?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Liquidator Brunt, FCA," he said, introducing himself. "How much business do you do, here? What sort of business do you do here?"

Brunt pulled out his datapad and hit a few buttons. "Are you the only employee?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sometimes?" Brunt's lower lip twitched. "You're flexible with your employees?"

Brunt shuddered. "How much latinum do you pay them?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Brunt," he said again. "Liquidator for the Ferengi Commerce Authority." He sneered. "You don't know what latinum is?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm a Ferengi," Brunt said, revolted. "I'm collecting data on the appropriateness of the FCA taking over the commerce of this area. If there is potential for profit." He glanced around the shop. "You're probably safe."

Brunt sniggered. "Well if they're as great at business as you are, they have nothing to worry about." He shook his head. "Hoo-mons."

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"How am I expected to buy something if you don't even know what the universal standard currency is?" Brunt said.

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Gold?" Brunt's nostrils flared. "You accept valueless gold?"

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Brunt snorted a laugh. "Hoo-mons," he said. "I have no further business here. Not that I ever had any." He turned to head to the door.

Maureen hit town sometime late afternoon. It looked like a decent enough place to stick around for a few days.

She made a beeline for the music store, wondering if Roger's CD had hit the stores yet.

"I was wondering if my friend's CD was in stores yet," Maureen said. She told him the name of the band which I don't remember right now, la.

"Roger was one of my roommates in New York," Maureen explained.

[identity profile] dramaqmaureen.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Maureen," she said, holding out her hand. "Nice to meet you."

[identity profile] dramaqmaureen.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Maureen nodded. "Just got here. Not sure if I'm staying yet."

[identity profile] dramaqmaureen.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
"If I stick around I'll need one," Maureen said with tilt of her head. "Why? Are you hiring?"

[identity profile] dramaqmaureen.livejournal.com 2006-07-29 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll keep that in mind then," Maureen said. "Once I figure out what I'm doing."
