Dean headed straight to the bar and ordered a beer, the first of what he planned on being many.

Alec was right behind him and ordered a second beer as he joined Dean at the bar. "Should I just wait until you're done there before getting an explanation?"

"Would I be drinking like this if I was kidding?" Dean asked, finishing his first beer and ordering a second.

Alec watched the second beer get set down, wondering if he should stop him or not. "What happened?"

"She said she needed space. Apparently this weekend messed with her head -- because yeah, it didn't mess with my head at all to think I was brother -- and she's confused because Sammy kissed her, but it's not about that. Or something." He shrugged. "I dunno, it wasn't really making much sense to me and she didn't seem able to explain it any better."

"So she broke up with you for reasons unknown," Alec said, sipping his own beer - his first still - much more leisurely. "But there's something about her kissing your brother that makes her need space, maybe."

Dean considered that as he took another drink. "Yeah, that about sums it up."

"That sucks," Alec said simply, and drank a good portion of his beer so he could at least catch up to Dean at some point.

"Yeah it does," Dean agreed, then ordered them both another beer. "Y'know," he said after taking another drink, "if she was going to break up with me it would be because... y'know."

Jane sauntered in and up to the bar with an empty whisky bottle. Which she held upside down over the bar.

"This is broken." Jane said. "I need some help here."
