Jack made his way slowly to the bar, enjoying the laid back music. He grabbed a stool at the very end and glanced at Jarod, lifting a hand in greeting, not really sure what to expect from him.

Jarod nodded as he walked over, friendly and relaxed. "Jack. What can I get for you this evening?"

"Hey, Jarod." Jack smiled warmly at him. "I'd like a beer, whatever's on tap is fine, and a little bit of your time, if you can spare it."

"Irish or Canadian," Jarod asked, since those seemed to be the most popular, "and I have plenty of time right now."

Jack shrugged. "Dealer's choice," he said, grinning as he leaned forward slightly, resting one arm on the bar. "Surprise me."

Jarod decided a black and tan would cover most bases. He started building the Guinness part, then added in the Harp on top. "As requested."

Jack slid a bill across the counter then, eyeing the drink a bit warily, he took a cautious sip, then a longer one. Eyes wide, he said, "This isn't a beer, it's a meal," but he was smiling in appreciation. "Very nice. Thanks."

"Always happy to enlighten a customer," Jarod winked, putting the money in the register. "So, you needed my time for something?"

"I do." He set down his drink and flattened his hands on the counter, still smiling warmly, and chose his words very carefully. "Actually, I need your time and your help. If you're prepared to give it."

Jack controlled his desire to smirk. It was exactly the response he'd been hoping for. "It's not very exciting. But as far as I know it is something that only you can help me with."

"Evening, Sawyer. Nice job in class Monday," Jarod said, speaking loudly over the noise of the blender.

Jarod garnished the drink, but decided to forgo the umbrella. "What's new? Haven't seen much of you lately."

He rests his cheek in the palm of the hand. "I think my girlfriends cheating on me." Sawyer frowns as he sips his Pina Colada.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Jarod said sympathetically. "Why would you think that?"

A heavy shrug. "You know..Just I can sense it." He mumbles. "I've barely seen her, she's been going out on dinner dates with this other girl." Sawyer feels really depressed about this fact.

"Maybe they're just good friends?" Jarod suggested, wiping up some spilled water and tossing a couple of ice cubes into the sink. "Have you talked to her about it?"

"No." His brows furrow even more, downing his drink. "Maybe I don't want to know."
