Even sandy beaches had rocks, and when there weren't rocks, there were usually shells. Either way, it was something to throw.
Throwing rocks and shells into the water as hard as he could was only slightly thereputic. Satisfying, but not exactly making him feel better. The information that Yang hadhandwavily let slip had not made things any easier. Let alone what Yang had shown up intending to tell him.

Tim threw the last rock with even more force, then sat down hard in the sand, knees drawn up to his chin. It was possible that he'd been crying.
