All and Sundries - Thursday
Jane is entirely confused.
Baldrick was resistant at first to the idea of helping her in the store.
But then he recognized her as a fellow member of the Proletariat.
So now he's being helpful. Or so he says.
Jane is getting sick of listening to him singing about how he "dreamed a dream in days gone by".
She also wonders where these chains they're supposed to throw off are.
All and Sundries is open.

Talk to Jane
All of the hit songs from Les Mes?
Even the great Andrew Lloyd Webber wished the songs were really his.

Re: Talk to Jane
Unfortunately, the only lyrics Baldrick would remember was 'I dreamed a dream in days gone by'... So what he lacked in content he made up for with volume and repitition.

Something about what the young lady just said made him think back to the second picture in his new book (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1033674.html?thread=43860170#t43860170).
"Everybody," he said finally, "should give according to their ability and receive according to their needs... So. If Jane needs earplugs. I should give them to her."
He looked a little unsure.
"Right?"

Re: Talk to Jane
Or something.
An armfull of earplugs was dumped out before Jane on the front counter.
"'Ere you are Jane." Baldrick said. "The young miss here said you needed ear plugs."
"Uh. Well thank you Baldrick, but I only need the one package..." she said taking one and slipping it into a pocket. He'd stopped singing so, maybe she wouldn't need to put them on just yet.
"Oh right right. According to need." He said. "Only got the one pair of ears... Not like my Aunt Milly. Do you need any earplugs miss?" He asked offering River some earplugs.

Jane watched him go. "...The fuck has got into him?"

Re: Talk to Jane
Whatever was up, it sure seemed to be making him happy.

Baldrick
Re: Baldrick
"Hello Mr. Baldrick!"
Re: Baldrick
As somebody who paid in gold, and had a huge amount of store credit, Pippi was perilously close to being Bourgeois. But when she was buying stuff, it was usually food to cook for other people. Which means that she contributed to the fading away of the state...
Or something.
Either way. She was nice.
"Hello Miss." he said taking off his hat (to give the nits some air). "Do you need anything today?"
Re: Baldrick
Re: Baldrick
That was unfortunate.
Re: Baldrick
Baldrick did manage to find a jar of pickled turnips and Pippi (being Scandinavian and thus having a love of all things pickled) was delighted.
When she left, she had a basket stuffed with copious amounts of delightful treats in their original and undamaged packaging. However, Baldrick
shamelessly modded by Pippi's Bourgeois mundidn't add it to her tab, because Pippi needed to feed THE PEOPLE, and THE PEOPLE needed to be fed, and it was his ability to give food for the feeding of THE PEOPLE.Baldrick felt progress was being made.
OOC
My lips were red, my hair was styled. And Act One wasn't so damn long.
Come watch me grovel in the dirt. Buy a souvenir and don it.
Rich folks pay 40 bucks a shirt, that has a starving pauper on it.
