Caritas - Open [8/24]
Veronica got to work, completely ignorant of most of the drama going on with her friends.
It was her last night working at Caritas and she was a little sad as she got everything ready, checked the band and opened for the night.

The Stage [8/24]
Re: The Stage [8/24]
"There's a kid inside,
and I have him with me always,
There's a kid inside,
Walking down old highschool hallways.
There's a kid inside,
at a desk,
at a dance,
in the halls,
in the showers.
There's a kid in side,
to this very day
And he makes a try,
for the high pop fly,
that I fumbled one september.
And he makes a fuss,
over some A plus,
that I shouldn't still remember
and he goes along,
getting hurt,
getting mad,
fighting fights that are over
and unless I'm strong,
all my senses are carried away,
I can feel my hand,
my trembling hand,
on michelle's angora sweater,
I can hear my band,
that awfull band,
only now it sounds much better
I can see that kid,
the kid I used to be,
on the stage,
on the field,
on the lunchline
I can feel him tugging at me,
I can hear him say...
always remember, never forget
always remember, never forget
always remember, (Gremlin bites are fun) never forget,
(Pippi Cat), always remember (saying something dumb), never forget, (identity crises), always remember (the faces, the names), never forget
who was popular and who was not,
Remember the dates,
and the loves and the hates,
and the games,
and when I think I forgot,
There's a kid in side,
keeping track,
keeping score like it's all still important
There's a kid inside,
every time i think I don't care
I blink and he's there, again,
he's there again
fighting anchient wrongs,
humming old hit songs in my head
singing come along, come along,
come along for the ride.
To a time and place,
I could not forget if I tried.
Always remember (Gwynn Locksley), Never forget (Professor Artie), always remember (Veronica Mars), never forget (Icecream eating monsters, hostile ducks, cute plagues, Fandom High.
There, he goes again, (insert fandom memory)
There, he goes again, (insert fandom sweetheart)
And I never know,
when the breeze will blow,
with the rush of old sensations,
why the kid should wake,
and my heart should ache,
every time I smell carnations,
something rings a bell,
anything at all,
all it takes is the slam of a locker,
or the switch from summer to fall,
a change of seasons seems barely reason,
but
there he goes again
humming his songs
fighting anchient wrongs
humming old hit songs in my head
singing come along, come along for the ride
to a time and place I could not forget if I tried.
there he goes again, humming his songs,
he's there again, there's a kid in, side!

Some girls, they like candy, and others, they like to grind,
I'll settle for the back of your hand somewhere on my behind.
Treat me like I'm a bad girl, even when I'm being good to you,
I don't want you to thank me, you can just spank me. Mmm.
Some guys like to sweet talk, and others, they like to tease,
Tie my hands behind my back and, ooo, I'm in ecstasy.
Don't slobber me with kisses, I can get that from my sisters,
Before I get too cranky, you better...
[Chorus:]
Like hanky panky (hanky panky),
Nothing like a good spanky (good spanky).
Don't take out your handkerchiefs,
I don't wanna cry, I just wanna hanky panky.
Like hanky panky (hanky panky),
Nothing like a good spanky (good spanky).
Don't take out your handkerchiefs,
I don't wanna cry, I just wanna hanky panky guy.
Oooo.
Please don't call a doctor, 'cause there's nothing wrong with me,
I just like things a little rough and you better not disagree.
'Cause I don't like a big softie, (no), I like someone mean and bossy,
Let me speak to you frankly, you better...
[chorus]
Oooo, yeah.
[Spoken:]
What about? Yeah. That's an interesting...
Oooo.
My bottom hurts just thinking about it.
(She wants you to) Treat me like I'm a bad girl,
(She needs you to) Even when I'm being good to you.
I don't want you to thank me (Don't thank her), you better...
[chorus]
(Hanky panky) Oooh, yeah
(Good spanky) Get the picture?
(Don't wanna cry, I just wanna)
That's the way I came into this world,
The doctor said, "Lady, she's a beautiful girl."
He gave me a spanky and the doctor smiled,
So give it up, honey, 'cause I want it.
Yeah.
(Hanky panky, good spanky, don't wanna cry, I just wanna)

Re: The Stage [8/24]
When the daylight's gone and you're on your own
And you need a friend just to be around
I will comfort you, I will take your hand
And I'll pull you through, I will understand
And you know that
I'll be at your side, there's no need to worry
Together we'll survive through the haste and hurry
I'll be at your side
If you feel like you're alone, and you've nowhere to turn
I'll be at your side
If life's standing still and your soul's confused
And you cannot find what road to choose
If you make mistakes
You can't let me down
I will still believe
I will turn around
And you know that
I'll be at your side, there's no need to worry
Together we'll survive through the haste and hurry
I'll be at your side
If you feel like you're alone, and you've nowhere to turn
I'll be at your side
I'll be at your side
I'll be at your side
You know that
I'll be at your side, there's no need to worry
Together we'll survive through the haste and hurry
I'll be at your side
If you feel like you're alone, you've got somewhere to go,
'Cos I'm right there
I'll be at your side, I'll be right there for you
Together we'll survive through the haste and hurry
I'll be at your side
If you feel like you're alone, you've got somewhere to go,
'Cos I'm at your side
I'll be right there for you
I'll be right there for you, yeah
I'm right at your side

Re: The Stage [8/24]
She knew the tune, but didn't know the words very well, so Molly had to watch the machine closely while she sang.
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Til I'm free
Oh, lord, through the revolution
Feed the babies
Who dont have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin in the street
Oh, oh, theres a solution
I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Til I'm free
Fly through the revolution
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Til I'm free
Fly through the revolution
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

Re: The Stage [8/24]
Re: The Stage [8/24]
Galileo's head was on the block,
the crime was looking up the truth.
And as the bombshells of my daily fears explode
I try to trace them to my youth.
And then you had to bring up reincarnation
over a couple of beers the other night.
And now I'm serving time for mistakes made by another in a another lifetime.
How long till my soul gets it right?
Can any human being ever reach that kind of light?
I call on the resting soul of Galileo
King of night vision, king of insight.
And then I think about my fear of motion,
which I never could explain.
Some other fool across the ocean years ago
must have crashed his little airplane.
How long till my soul gets it right?
Could any human being ever reach that kind of light?
I call on the resting soul of Galileo
King of night vision, king of insight.
I'm not making a joke, you know me; I take everything so seriously.
If you wait till the time till all souls get it right
then at least I know they'll be no nuclear annihilation in my life time.
I’m still not right.
"I offer thanks to those before me," that's all I’ve got to say.
Cuz maybe you squandered big bucks in your lifetime
Now I have to pay.
But then again it feels like some sort of inspiration
To let the next life off the hook.
But she'll say, "Look what I had to overcome from my last life,
I think I'll write a book."
How long till my soul gets it right?
Can any human being ever reach the highest light?
Except for Galileo, God rest his soul
King of night vision, king of insight.

Re: The Stage [8/24]
"I've been expanding my musical vocabulary," he said with an abashed smile before he started to sing. "This is for . . . well, those of you who are staying. I will truly miss you all."
"Call my friends to share some wine
To share some laughs, and last goodbyes
My photographs of these years
Will make me laugh through the tears
What are the odds? What are the odds?
This ends and we don't meet again
What are the odds? What are the odds?
That I will miss your smile?
Take awhile! Take awhile! Take care and
Fly away and see the world
Take awhile! Take awhile! Take time and
If you need rest, I'll keep your nest
Changeless
Let fondness be our souvenir
To keep it warm, we'll keep it near
Otherwise with no heart to recall --
A memory's just a memory after all
I will not leave this pulse alone
Though it may take the long way home
I will not wait until the end
For my applause for you, my friend
What are the odds? What are the odds?
This ends and we don't meet again
What are the odds? What are the odds?
That I will miss your smile?
Take awhile! Take awhile! Take care and
Fly away and see the world
Take awhile! Take awhile! Take time and
If you need rest, I'll keep your nest
Changeless
Changeless . . ."

Re: The Stage [8/24]
The words that you said
They still ring in my head
Don't you know
We say goodbye
With a tear in our eye
Oh, where'd you go
It's alright you can sleep tonight
Knowing you'll always live on in a song
Farewell to old friends
Let's raise a glass to the bitter end
Farewell to old friends
Will you be the same when we see you again
Remember the days
When we'd laugh as you played
Who would have known
The water would come and just take you away
Oh, where'd you go
It's not alright
I can't sleep tonight
Knowing you should have played on
On and on
Farewell to old friends
Let's raise a glass to the bitter end
Farewell to old friends
Will you forgive me when I see you again
You had a good time
Drinking all of our wine
After the show
We all rode the wave
Of that crazy parade
Oh, where'd you go
What happened to
The ones we knew
As long as I'm the shiniest star
Oh, there you are
Farewell to old friends
Let's raise a glass to the bitter end
Farewell to old friends
We'll still be here when you come round again

"This one goes out to V. I'm gonna miss you Mars."
He signals the band and begins to sing...
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way,
you always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,
a beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can pick locks way better than you can,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,
I can pick locks way better than you.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can pick locks way better than you can,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away,
you let me fly so high.
Oh, fly, fly,
so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you,
the wind beneath my wings.

Re: The Bar [8/24]
even though he'll be kind of quiet for the next couple of hours, because after months of being at Caritas every night Veronica worked here, he couldn't not be at Caritas on her last night. He had his camera phone out and was taking as many pictures as the phone would let him.Whether the battery ran out before the memory did was going to be anyone's guess.
