Caritas [Sunday Evening]

Greg opened up Caritas, mulling over the conversation from earlier in the day with his school-appointed and very grumpy little brother.

He whistled as he started to reassemble the band, and then took his place behind the bar and waving cheerfully to Jarod on the other side of the bar.

"Thanks!" Isabel turned as Lorne began his act. "Oh! Lorne's back!"

"He's green," said Greg.

"He is. He's also psychic," she said. "He can read you when you sing and tell you about your past and a bit about your future."

"I've broken your brain again haven't I?" Isabel asked sheepishly. "Sorry."

"How?" he finally asked. "Like Bridge?"

"Honestly? I don't know. He read me once, just after I came to Fandom," Isabel said, soberly slightly as she remembered the vampire attack. "He knew where I was from, and some of what was going to happen in the future."

Greg reached over and took her hand, recognizing the shift in mood. "Want to hear some good news?"

Tangling her fingers in his, Isabel smiled. "Good news would great."

Greg watched her for a reaction.

Isabel was very still for a moment. "Really?" she asked quietly. Then without waiting for an answer, since she knew Greg would never joke with her about this, she got up from her seat, and walked around to the back of the bar to hug him tightly.

Greg returned the hug, squeezing her gently. "Yeah, really. Mom called this morning."

"Go Mom," Isabel said happily. "I was trying so hard not to think about it." Reluctantly she let go and returned to her chair on the other side of the bar smiling happily.

"I just have to promise to keep in touch and stuff," Greg said. "Which I can do."

"Yup, emails, the occasional phone call." Isabel bounced happily in her chair. "I'm happy."

"I am, too," Greg grinned. "I was hoping you'd come in so I could tell you."
