V, beckoned by the occasional stirrings he heard above his head, had finally emerged from his basement.

He was perched on the edge of the sofa in the living room in an attempt to be both unobtrusive and semi-social, and was alternately sifting through his only two sources of literature at the moment: the - appropriately enough - "V" volume of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, which he'd found in an alley the night of his arrival, and the strange packet addressed to him that he had yay handwavey found outside his basement window that morning.

Finishing with a bit of computer work, Logan opened the door to his room and looked at V in surprise as he emerged. "Hey V, I didn't expect to see you up here already."

"It seemed impolite to lurk underground while you're all aware of my presence," he replied somewhat warmly.

Thursday came down the stairs and crossed over to the kitchen. She poured herself a drink from the fridge. "Evening," she greeted. The mask was a surprise, but either he was just an odd Outlander or he was a fictional character who'd stopped by. Either way, nothing to worry about. She also nodded at Logan.

After he finished arranging his garage area, The Tick wandered into the living room, eager to meet his new housemates. "Hello, chums!"

That would be the guy in the blue suit. "Evening."

"Good evening," V said quietly. "Are you one of our housemates to whom I've been so rude as to neglect introducing myself?"

"And to you," V replied in a low voice, immediately rising as soon as he noticed Thursday and quirking his head curiously. "Are you the sole feminine presence in our household?"

"Good evening to you, too! I am The Tick!" Tick said by way of introductions.

"As far as I know," she replied. "I'm Thursday Next."

"I am indeed, chum!" Tick said, in a rather booming voice. "I am The Tick!"

"I'm glad you changed your mind," he said, smiling. "Is the basement shaping up yet?"

"A pleasure," he said, bowing slightly. "I'm known as V."

"I'm Thursday Next. Pleased to meet you, Mr The Tick. Or is it Mr Tick?"

"Consider it my very sincere delight to meet you...The Tick. I'm known as V," he replied.

Logan nodded back, cheerful. "Did you and Friday settle in okay?"

"It's getting to seem more like my former home," V nodded. Which was true, though it lacked the artistry of the Shadow Gallery. "Are you finding your room comfortable?"

John came in from a day of exploring the town and some of the surrounding area, feeling much more comfortable with his knowledge of his surroundings.

He paused at the figure on the sofa, but only briefly. "Good evening."

"Just The Tick. Or Tick. Or Dean Tick. Titles, articles, they're all just leaves on the tree of naming anyway!" Tick said.

"Pleased to meet you, V. It's good to recognize a familiar accent. Where are you from?"

"And to you," V greeted. "Are you yet another of my terribly unacknowledged-as-of-yet housemates?"

"Wait. Mask. Snazzy hat. Keen name not commonly used among most people..." Tick put two and two together and got a number that didn't look terribly dissimilar to four. "Are you a superhero, too?"

"London, twenty years into the future. I scarcely understand it, but I've learnt not to question such things."

"Hello, there, chum!" Tick said. "I am The Tick! I live in the garage!"

She nodded. "Fine. Friday was out like a light. He's been playing in his room all day. I think I'll have to find a babysitter soon. Do you know if there's a local directory?"

Thursday nodded. "Call me Thursday. You're the Dean of Students?"
