Theodoric's of York, Tuesday evening
Ivanova hung around outside waiting for Blair to show up. He had wanted a big bang, she was going to give him a big bang. Not dirty. A big bang for which she had actually gone and checked over EarthForce regulations before coming here. Just in case.
Now, he just had to show up and they would . . . big bang.
Not dirty.
[[For Blair, mostly, but open nonetheless.]]

"Breathe! Breathing makes it better!" Blair reached over and laid a hand on her cheek. "Just give it a second."

The piercing guy just gave her a strange look. She ignored him.

Blair waited until she had gotten her arms through the shirt before moving around to stand in front her. "Here, let me help you with the buttons." He moved her fingers away and buttoned the bottom button before looking up at Ivanova. "I don't..you were all hurt...I mean..."
Trailing off he leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers. It was awkard and inexperienced, but Blair put all his feelings for Ivanova into it and he pulled away after a moment, licking his lips slightly and whispering in amazement. "You taste good."

. . . not that she had minded. No, not at all, really. She swallowed and licked her own lips, smiling almost nervously. "So do you."

He took a breath and looked at her steadily. There was so much running through his brain right now and he didn't know how to explain any of it. You're leaving tomorrow, maybe for good. You're the best friend I've ever had. You're beautiful. I want you to remember me. I couldn't let you leave without kissing you. You taste really good.
"I'm not going to apologize."

"Good," she said. "Because I'm not sorry it happened, either."
She definitely wasn't going to be forgetting it any time soon, either.

until years later when she was showed up in Cascadethat they would always be friends."I was thinking how beautiful you were, how amazing it was that you did this for me, how I never wanted you to be hurt." Blair paused and looked at her seriously. "How you're leaving tomorrow. How I may not see you again. How you're the best friend I've ever had."

"I think I love you, Blair," she said, and she wasn't even really joking.

He was content to just stand here for a very long time. In fact, standing here with Ivanova until Thursday seemed like a very good idea. He might have said that last part very quietly.

Finally she sighed and lifted her head, hating that she was the one to end it. "I should go. Packing . . . and Maia."
