Mauvaise Chance - Apt #4 Friday
After an invigorating night of … stamp collecting … Wilson and Aziraphale slept in a bit, for them at least and enjoyed some … errr … more stamp collecting before finally getting up and starting their day. Showers went a long way to helping a person wake up, yet Wilson still brewed a pot of coffee to supplement his tea intake and he puttered around making them a simple breakfast of bagels and loxs.
Over breakfast they talked about the radio and Wilson explained to Aziraphale a little more completely what it was and that, yes it had been around the last time they were in Fandom, Phale just had never known to turn it on. This was a situation the angel decided would need to be rectified in the future and so one of the ‘buttons’ on the apartment wide stereo system was now permanently keyed to the Fandom Radio.
A quick trip to the store got Wilson the other ingredients he’d need for baking and after flipping on a CD of the angel’s favorite instrumental jazz, Aziraphale disappeared into the study to sort books into the three big bookcases that had appeared there and Wilson settled down to making the promised cake.
A Hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting as promised only using fresh pineapple instead of canned. At some point the apartment’s front door was set open, allowing the delicious scents of food, fresh Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, and a rich orange spice tea to waft invitingly out into the hallway.
Sugar and caffeine… the natural diet of many Fandom High faculty!

He couldn't stay away from the kitchen for long, though. Not with the young doctor baking, and the delicious scents making their way through the apartment. So eventually the books were left to be finished another time, and the angel slipped into the kitchen, taking a seat up on one of the counters so he could steal bits of pineapple.
"You're going slow, so Miss Sciuto gets to share in the fun, aren't you love?"
no subject
"Have you ever tried to skin and core a pineapple, love? Believe me, it takes time." Wilson muttered as he turned to yet another section of pineapple to work on.
"How are the books coming along?"
He was curious to see what parts of the angel's own library the man had summoned and would probably spend a good hour once Phale had everything sorted, poking about on the shelves. For himself, he'd had the angel bring all his medical texts and journals. He had a mind to do some writing at least, to suppliment his income from teaching and to keep his name circulating in oncology circles while he stayed on Fandom.
"Oh! That reminds me, were you able to find and summon my laptop?"
A bit different from the worried, fretful mortal who got all flustered if the angel so much as miracled tea, isn't he?

She bounced up to Wilson and Aziraphale's door, wearing a lab coat and carrying two cups of Caf-Pow and stopped in shock. "Whoa. Furniture."

Hearing her at the door, the front door standing almost directly across from the kitchen, Wilson walked over and poked his head through the archway.
"Hey there, Abby! I thought I heard you. Come on in."

"Good morning, Ellie. Do you live here in the building as well? Come on in." Wilson invited with with a twitch of his head.

Spotting Ellie, he walked over and gave her a warm smile. "Good day, Miss Arroway. We'll pleased you could stop in."

Besides, he really should get to know the neighbors.
He rapped on the door frame to announce himself. "Mornin'."

"Good morning, Reverend." He greeted Jesse with a friendly smile. "Come on in."

"Hello there, neighbor?" He couldn't remember having met Elliot yet. "And it's a bit of one, food... coffee...tea...cream cheese frosting bowl and cake batter to arm wrestle over. Come on in."

Wilson waved Nine on through the doorway and into the kitchen, the epicenter of all sorts of yummy baking and breakfast smells.
"Have you had breakfast?" He asked, seeing the thermos and turning to reach for a mug for the Doctor.

"Good day, Doctor. I'm so pleased we finally get to meet...in the flesh, so to speak. Cup for your tea?" he asked, gesturing toward the thermos.

Anyway, Janice figured it could be passed off easily enough as meeting the new neighbors, and she had just come away from an initial, eyepopping visit to Jeff, the God of Biscuits with more baked goods than she'd be able to eat by herself.
She followed the scent and sound to their source, and knocked on the open doorframe of #4. "Some sort of impromptu faculty party?"

Cake Batter Bowl & Cream Cheese Frosting Bowl
Somehow, Wilson -probably with a wee bit of help from Aziraphale- managed to keep enough batter and frosting for two finished cakes, one for Abby and another to share with everyone else.
But in the meantime, there is a bowl full of cake batter leavings and a bowl full of cream cheese frosting leavings for your sugar rush pleasure.
[ooc: Figured a little ocd might help and...the picture was too cute to pass up!]

"Dr. Pevensie! Good to see you. Come on in so I don't have to shout why don't you?"
