Caritas, Monday Evening

Jarod? Not in the best mood ever after his fight with Parker the night before. Still, he had a job to do, so here he was, doing it. The zombies were taped, and having caught his mood, were playing a lot of AC/DC and Aerosmith. No ballads.

He did double check to make sure the painkiller supply was fully stocked.

Isabel realized it had been a while since she'd seen Jarod. So Monday evening she took a walk down to Caritas and found a seat at the bar.

"Hey, Isabel. What can I get for you?" Jarod gave a small smile since he couldn't not. "What's new?"

"A diet coke please," she said, returning his smile. "Nothing huge. I've been busy now that school's started up again. But I did get a kitten this weekend. Maybe Annie and M can have a play date?"

"Coming right up," he poured her soda and smiled wider. "Annie?"

"She seemed like an Annie to me," Isabel explained. "I'm not sure if she was an orphan or not. I plan on having Zero talk to her and make sure she likes the name."

"I never thought of asking M if she liked her name," Jarod mused. "I feel like a bad cat sponsor."

"Does she purr and seem happy?" she asked. "If so then I think you're doing a fine job. The next project is to have Bridge make some sort of wireless fence for my door so she can't get out."

"She does." He felt marginally better. "If Bridge does half the job on your fence that he did on my phone, Annie should be safe and sound in your room."

"Does your phone dispense Twinkies?" Isabel laughed. "Somehow he made Xander's Blackberry dispense Twinkies."

Isabel thought about the little bit she'd picked up from Parker about Jarod's need to keep a low profile. "I can see where that would be useful."

"Parker is going to kill me," Isabel laughed. "I was mostly kidding. Sweet and spicy is an alien thing. You might wind up with permanent damage to your tastebuds."

After his shift, Chad stopped in for his post-work Corono or two.

"No lime," he specified, and set the plastic T-Rex on the counter of the bar as he had a seat. He was the victor of the great dino battle. Mostly because the others went missing...errr, extinct.

Jarod set the bottle (sans lime) in front of Chad. "Nice dinosaur. Yours?"

Chad was relieved; he didn't know if he could handle another lime.

"Yup." He took a drink. "His name's Rex."

No one ever said Chad was particularly creative.
