Edmund was watching an Oprah marathon.

It was making him seriously rethink leaving the 19th century.

It was also making him depressed. Which made him crabby. Which made him drunk.

Well, being drunk didn't make him crabby, more the other way around.

Regardless, he was resolutely not sobbing in his beer, vodka, or everclear, and would ruthlessly stab anyone who tried to say otherwise.

Baldrick, however, was whistling a happy tune and would be delighted to help you with all of your sundry needs.
