Caritas, Monday Evening

Sam arrived at Caritas to find that the drummer's hand was stuck in the amplifier. She decided she didn't want to know how it happened, no matter how much the other band members grunted and tried to explain. After a bit of a struggle, the hand was pried loose and retaped (with the zombie wincing a little over the pain, the big faker. She wasn't that bad at first aid, thank you very much.) to the zombie.

From the way he was staring at her as he drummed, she figured he was appropriately grateful.

Sam and her trusty book o' drinks are here, as is Tino.

The Tick walked into the bar and was mildly surprised to see who was behind the bar. "Hello, Sam!" he said. "What are you doing here tonight?"

Sam looked up from her homework and smiled. "Hello, sir! I'm covering shifts for Jarod, or have taken them over permanently--I'm not sure. What can I get for you?"

"A chocolate milk, please!" Tick requested. "Why aren't you sure if this is a permanent job?"

Sam mixed up a chocolate milk and added a blue umbrella. Professor Tick seemed like a blue paper umbrella kind of guy. "I assume that if Jarod comes back, he'll want his job."

"If?" Tick asked. "Egads! It must be serious."

"I don't know the full story," Sam shrugged, "but I assume so, yes. Anyway, did you enjoy the dance?"

"It was fun! Even better than last year's, but it could have used some more color," Tick said.

"Yes, I can definitely agree with you on that," Sam laughed. "And I could do without returning to the fifties for a while, but the music was good and it seemed like people had a good time."

"And it was nice to see the alumni again," Tick said. "We were missing that last year."

"And next year, we'll have even more alumni," Sam said, realizing for the first time in a while that she'd be one of them.

"Very true!" Tick said. "We'll have a nigh infinite number of students returning!"

"And this is good, right?"

"Probably," Tick said with confidence. He finished off his chocolate milk and reached into his pocket for money that he left on the bar. "Thanks for the drink, Sam! Have a good night!"

"You too, sir!"

Full of dark corners and squishy furniture.
