After a lot of close inspection, Hikaru stood behind a tree completely in Kaoru-esque dress. Not that they didn't wear the same clothes, but there were those subtle differences in taste that he was worried Matilda would notice. With his hair swooped to the opposite side, and his face well relaxed which was helped by the earlier practice in class he was ready to impersonate his brother.

Approaching the park, Matilda would be able to see his hair peaking out from the tree.

Matilda does notice the hair peeking out and talks to him as she walks closer. "Hey Kaoru! What's wrong? You said we needed to talk about something... I hope nothing terrible has happened..." She looks concerned as she nears him.

Hikaru took a deep breath. This was the time to fool her. If it failed, at least he was geting one point across...
//No, nothing "terrible". I just wanted to talk to you about what's been going on...// He spoke in Japanese, his native language an easier thing to alter slightly. Kaoru's voice was a little higher than his own.

Oh. So there had been multiple notes...
//Yea. That might be best...// He didn't let his annoyance trace into his speech.

//No, in fact, he's angry at you. We think you should stay away for awhile..// His voice started to betray him, letting it slip into the lower register.

//You... talked about it..? Stay away...? If he's angry at me why can't I just talk to him? The notes were harmless, and we went to homecoming as friends...//

She blinks for a moment. Why didn't she notice before. She looks mad. //Hikaru! I should have noticed. You shouldn't impersonate your brother! If you're mad at me then talk to me in person you coward!//

//I'm not a coward! I just...// Hikaru couldn't really explain his reasoning other than he wanted Matilda to think Kaoru was telling her off rather then himself.

Hikaru flushed in anger, //I guess that's just how I am! Maybe you should stay away then!// He turned to walk off. strangely reminiscent of ranma? His only options for ceasing fights seemed to be running away from them.

She's not quite finished yet. She calls after him, //I can't believe I thought you were Kaoru even for a minute! Kaoru is good person but you only care about yourself!//
