Fast Eddie's - Thursday Night

Weiss was in xTreme Casual mode when he ambled into Fast Eddie's with Molly. He's managed to be at least somewhat charming up to this point, if only in his own mind. And hey, no quarters from ears or paper bouquets yet. He could work this. Even if not, there would be gutter bumpers for an inflated high score.

Weiss's reptile brain dealt with that for a second and then moved on. "So. Bowling. It's an exciting sport that we're not playing right now. The pins are sad at us."

Molly had finished most of her burger while they'd been talking so she took a big sip of her Coke and hopped up. "Time to go knock them down then," she said.

The next few frames went about the same for Molly. It was obvious that without the bumpers, her score would be much much lower. Weiss did improve though. He wasn't out to destroy Molly with his score, but he wasn't sabotaging himself anymore.

Weiss had a solid strike in the eighth frame and he was getting ready to bowl his ninth. Counting the 10 pins from the previous round, he was 17 ahead, and he was about to make it more... He smiled at Molly and let fly with the heavy bowling ball o' doom... and sent 8 pins flying.

Then he did a little dance. With moonwalking.

It wasn't the hardest spare ever, but it was a little outside his usual skill level. Oh well. If one wanted to impress the ladies... Weiss tread up the line, rolled the ball hard, and knocked both pins to the back of the lane. He grinned like an idiot. "Did you see that? Oh I am on fire tonight." He actually bounced.

Molly grinned and stood to take her turn. "I'm amazed the pins didn't melt," she said. Collecting her ball, she lined up her shot.

She'd gotten pretty good at using the bumpers to bank her shots now. This time, she would get a spare. She was determined. Rolling the ball down the lane, she aimed for the right bumper at the perfect spot to bounce the ball over to take out most of the left side.

Success! Seven pins went down on the left side. "Woo hoo!" Molly said and went to wait for her ball to be returned.

"Rock on, Bubba. Three to go." Mm. Cheese fry. "The crowd is hushed, waiting for their star to slam the spare home. Can she do it? This reporter says 'Sure!'"

Molly picked up her ball as soon as it came out and stepped up to the line again. "I'm going to try my bast," she said quietly.

Repeating her last toss except aiming for the left bumper, she let the ball go. It did exactly what she wanted it to do too. Bouncing off the left bumper, it cleanly took out the three remaining pins.

"Spare!" Molly cheered and turned back to Eric with a grin. "I'm really going to have to learn how to bowl without the bumpers eventually. Until the, yay me!"

"Jojo" licked the tips of his finger. "Time for a little magic, then. For my next trick..." Ooh, cheese fry. "I will knock down all 10 pins." He rolled the ball... and took out 4. Yay cockiness.

"We'll see," Weiss said. He retrieved his ball, lined up his shot... and sent the bowling ball to the end... 5 clattered over and one wobbled back and forth. "C'mon... c'mon..."

And then it wobbled back to a standing position. "Dammit."
