Fast Eddie's - Thursday Night

Weiss was in xTreme Casual mode when he ambled into Fast Eddie's with Molly. He's managed to be at least somewhat charming up to this point, if only in his own mind. And hey, no quarters from ears or paper bouquets yet. He could work this. Even if not, there would be gutter bumpers for an inflated high score.

[OOC: Post is open, Weiss and Molly's thread is not]

After getting shoes in her size from the attendant, Molly sat down to change from her street shoes. "So, how good a bowler are you? Any chance I can get you to not wipe the floor with me too bad?"

Molly glanced over to see because she'd wondered how they did that. "Yeah, but you still know how to make the ball go where you want it to. I'll be relying on pure luck."

Shoes on, Molly stood up to go pick a ball.

"Sure. Thanks," Molly said with a grin. She was picking up the heaviest balls, but was having a problem finding one with finger holes small enough for her hand. "How much does the weight really matter?"

"A Coke is good," Molly said. Heavier it was then. She couldn't count completely on luck to knock down pins and she had yet to learn ball control. She kept looking.

Finally! She found a heavy ball that she could get all of her fingers into properly. Holding it easily in one hand, she went over to the lane.

Molly grinned back. "Thanks." She took a sip of her Coke before turing to the scoring computer. "What name do you want?"

"Awww. Just Eric? Don't you ever use fun bowling names?" Molly gave him an impish grin. "I think I'll be..." she typed into the computer, "Bubba." She looked at Eric expectantly.

Molly chuckled and typed in the name. "And to answer your earlier question, JoJo, I would like to go first." She hopped up, got her ball and went to bowl her first frame.

Bumpers were a good thing. The ball, which was traveling rather quickly down he lane, bounced from one side to the other and ended up taking out seven pins. Molly turned back to Eric with a grin. "I like bumpers."

"I don't think she can do it," Molly stage whispered as she lined up to finish off the frame. "With two on one side and one on the other, her luck would have to be pretty spectacular since we know her skill isn't."

Molly rolled the ball, aiming for the two pins together. And missed all three.

"JoJo must be having an off day," Molly said. "Maybe he just needs to warm up."

"Nope. Keeping all of my luck for myself," Molly said, finally taking a bite of her burger.

"Yay!" Molly applauded before getting up to take her own turn. "Okay, this time, I'm going to try to actually aim at the pins." She threw the ball straight down the lane, but was off center. Four pins on the right went down. "Hmmm, I did better using the bumpers."

"My luck must have taken a nap," Molly said as she waited for her ball to be returned. "Time to rely on the bumpers."

This time, she lined up her shot along the left side of the lane. She rolled the ball along the bumper, hoping it would stay on that side an hit more pins. It worked. Sort of. She got two more pins. Yay, six," she said.

Molly gave him a look; not frowning, but not exactly grinning either. "Don't play bad because you think I'll feel bad. I already know you'll win," she said simply.
