Caritas, Monday Evening
It was amazing what a shower, a good night's sleep, and a couple of decent meals had done for Sam's state of mind. She whistled as she set up for the night and waved to the zombies, but decided not to warn them about the possible impending duet.
It would be more fun for everyone that way. Or maybe just for her, but that counted.

The Band
Re: The Band
"I'd like to dedicate this song," he said after he struggled to get the microphone loose. "First of all, to all the sweet girls with a kick to them. Especially the cute ones in California," he nodded. "Secondly, to Parkie. Because she's a scary but cool chick and she loves Dean Martin. And thirdly, to thingies!"
He turned his head to see if Jack had followed him onto the stage. "Let's sing it, dude!"
Okay, maybe he was a little bit more than buzzed.

Re: The Band
Mr. detective, you've been looking too hard
You should've started looking in your own back yard.
Lost and found
Lost and found
You've earned your salary
Searching for Mallory
Wanna play lost and found
Well, then, here i am
On the lam
You've been assigned to find out where i've been
And now you've found me in your bed
And though my daddy said to turn me in
Why don't i turn you on instead
Teasing lips
Pleasing thighs
Easy on
Private eyes
If you're not celibate
We could raise hell a bit
Why don't you call my bluff
Don't resist
You won't know what you've missed
You'll never tame me
But you can claim me
At the lost
and
found

Re: The Band
Like a bird on a wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free
Like a fish on a hook
Like a knight from an old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons with thee
And if I have been unkind I hope that you will just let it go by
And if I have been untrue I hope you know it was never to you
Like a baby stillborn
Like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me
But I swear by this song
By all I have done wrong
I'll make it all up to you
I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch
He called out to me "Don't ask for so much"
And a young man leaning on his darkened door
He cried out to me "Hey, why not ask for more"
Like a bird on a wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free
He stood silently for a minute, then jumped down and made his way back to the bar.
Re: The Band
Girl you know I'm gonna
Keep your number
In a little glass box
With a hammer right beside
So I can break it
In case of an emergency
And then I'll call you up
In the middle of the night
So I always know somehow
I'm gonna make it
In cas of an emergency
I know sometimes I lean on you
I only do it cause you let me
You can lean on me too
So if you ever have a problem
I hope you won't forget me
I'm gonna keep your picture
By the side of my bed
So I can see you
Even when I close me eyes
I case of an emergency
I'm gonna keep your words
Rolling round in my head
So I can hear them
When I start to fall behind
In case of an emergency
You know that I see clouds in the sky
But you know that I'm not complaining
I see your light
And you know I have sunshine
Even when it's raining
I'm gonna keep you so close
That you ain't ever far away
So I'll come running baby
When you call my name
In case of an emergency
I'm gonna send you all the love
From the bottom of my heart
Cos you know that
You can't ever get enough
In case of an emergency I got you
In case of an emergency
You got me too
In case of an emergency I got you, yeah<.i>

Re: The Band
And he started to sing, swaggering across the stage, and sliding across it on his knees to lean over the edge where Parker was standing.
You don't own me
I'm not just one of your many toys
You don't own me
Don't say I can't go with other boys
Don't tell me what to do
Don't tell me what to say
An' please, when I go out with you
Don't put me on display
You don't own me
Don't try to change me in anyway
You don't own me
Don't tie me down 'cause I'll never stay
I don't tell you what to say
I don't tell you what to do
So just let me be myself
That's all I ask of you
I'm young and I love to be young
I'm free and I love to be free
To live my life the way I want
To say and do whatever I please
He was out of breath, panting slightly, by the time he finished, but he was grinning madly, and he lifted an eyebrow at Parker in question.
