The Beach, Saturday Afternoon

Billy stood looking out over the ocean, after handwavily calling Duke. He figured it'd be easier to spot observers here than anywhere else.

After receiving Billy's call Duke arrived at the beach, "So what is it exactly about this school that's got you woried?" he asked as came up next to Billy.

"Well...see, like I said last night, I like the classes, I like the students. But I don't trust it here. I think the administration has a hidden agenda." Billy began.

"And why do you think that?"

Billy took a deep breath and tried to organize his thoughts. "They've hired a mass murderer to teach Ethics. They randomly select students to get detention, you don't have to have done anything, and last week, this guy, Darth Vader's his name, who by the way dresses like my father..." he took another breath.

"Vader ran detention. And he put us through a holographic scenario...designed to make us interrogate people, order the destruction of a ship claiming diplomatic immunity and finally, obey an order to wipe out the entire population of a planet." But wait, there's more.

"The Criminal Justice teacher is a masked terrorist, and he's sponsoring the Damn The Man club. On top of all that, I don't think my cover story's working. One of the teachers claimed he could see my soul and knew I was lying, and implied others did too. I think he's right."

sure I'm forgetting something, but those are the main points I think

Duke placed a comforting hand on Billy's shoulder, "I talked to the principal," he said, "she said that you had nothing to be concerned about,"

Billy smiled slightly. "Yeah she would say that." he said, only half joking.

"I'm positive the school wouldn't deliberately put students in danger," Duke said, "are you certain that you've correctly heard the facts about your teachers?"

"I can't be sure about the Criminal Justice Teacher." Billy admitted. "Vader told me to my face that the rumors about his killing people were true. And the detention exercise was pretty straitforward." He sighed. "I've been used before Duke. I won't let it happen again."

"And it won't happen again, I promise," Duke told him.

Billy still looked uncertain. "What about my cover story? If people aren't buying it..."

"How many people know or think they know?"

"Aziraphale, one of the teachers, he's the one who said that he knew I was lying, about why I was here, my name and what my father did. So I told him I was in witness protection and that Kessler's not my real name. As far as I know, that's all he knows. He said he woudlnt' be surprised if other people knew I was lying, and at least one student, Nadia, thinks she knows I'm lying, though I've denied it."

"How did Azirapale react when you did tell him?"

"Took it in stride really. He was pretty nice about it, which was weird at the time since I was freaking out."

"Have you spoken with Nadia lately?"

"No, I've mostly avoided, well she saw me when I was a lizard, and doesn't just figure I'd turn into a reptile, but I don't think she knew it was me."

"Do you have an idea as to how she would react if she knew what you told Aziraphale?"

"Possibly smug, having seen through my clever web of deception." Billy quipped. "Other than that, no. I don't really know her that well."

"Is there anybody else who you trust enough to be able to tell?" Duke asked

Billy blinked. "Uhm, okay I know Cobra and G.I.Joe were recently de-classified, but aren't I still a need to know thing?"

"I don't mean that you need to tell them absolutely everything," Duke replied, "if there was at least someone you trusted with a more accurate version of the truth, would it make things here more easier?"

"It...it might." And truth be told, he was already considering possibilities.

"Billy, I know that it hasn't been easy for you but I do want you to stay here at Fandom,"

Billy sighed. "You guys really think it's a good idea?" he asked, almost hopefully. Talking about it had helped.

"We do believe that it's best for you," Duke confirmed, nodding.

"All right then. But if I wind up becoming an evil warlord I'm blaming you in my autobiography."

"I'm positive it won't have to come to that," Duke told him, smiling a little.
