Movies in the Park, 10/25

The portable screen has been set up once again, and people are beginning to stake out their favorite spots. With the weather cooling off, outdoor gas heaters have been set up in various locations around the cinema area.

Bring your date or meet your friends, or just find a quiet place to enjoy a good movie. The film begins at dusk.


[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs. This is the first in a series, which will run every Wednesday until mid-November (barring an unexpectedly cold autumn).]

"It does actually get cold," she said, sliding over to sit right up against him. Shared body heat and all that. "And occasionally we'll even get some flurries, but it's still nothing like winter was here last year."

Greg wrapped his other arm around her. He was helpful that way. "Goodie. Something to look forward to."

"Yup," Isabel nodded as she pulled away briefly to drape the extra blanket around both of them. "Snowball fights, snowmen, walks in the snow and then warming up afterwards. It'll be fun."

"I like the warming up part," Greg whispered as he pressed a kiss beside her ear.

"So," he said in his normal voice. "What're we watching?"

"I thought you would," Isabel smiled, resting her head against his shoulder. "In fact I'm thinking I'm going to be a little chilly by the time this is over."

"We're watching Notorious. Which I have never seen before. But Parker says it's one of her favorite movies, so I'm willing to give it a shot."

"Oh, well if Parker says so," Greg said, pulling her closer.

Isabel slipped her hands down to tickle his waist. "I'm just enjoying the fact that I'm here with my favorite guy and my friend to enjoy an evening. For a while there I wasn't sure if it was going to be possible."

"Why?" Greg asked, squirming and definitely not giggling at the tickling.

"Max was pretty insistent on me going home. But eventually I was able to convince him that I would be okay if I stayed." She tipped her head back to study Greg's hair. "He was intrigued by your hair."

Greg preened. "My hair is very intriguing. But you promise he didn't hate me?"

"I promise," Isabel smiled. "He liked you. Especially after I told him how happy I was."

"So have you come up with a Halloween costume yet?"

"I think I want to be a cowboy," Greg decided happily. "Possibly for like, life, too. If Halloween works out, I mean."

"You were inspired over the weekend weren't you?" she chuckled. "I think you'd be a cute cowboy. But are you prepared to spend hours and hours of a day on horseback? That's got to hurt."

"I'll learn to cope," he decided. "Plus, I'll have my best girl waiting back for me at the ranch...or you know, whatever - and surely I'll get healing cuddles for my cow-wrangling troubles."

"This is true," Isabel agreed. "And there would be cuddles, and a possible back rub even. If you're interested that is."

"Hmmmm." Greg pretended to think.

"I know," she said seriously. "It's a difficult decision. I mean do you really want me to put my hands on you like that?"

Greg considered for another moment, then tilted his head to give her a quick kiss. "I think I could live with it."

Isabel slipped her hands up into his hair to prolong the kiss a little longer. "The sacrifices you make for me," she murmured.

"I know. You're really lucky I love you. It makes me much more of a giver," Greg said, rubbing his nose against hers.

"I am very lucky you love me," Isabel nodded. "If you didn't I'd be here, all misterable and woeful because of my unrequited love."

"Yes, and wasting away even," she said, her face serious.

"Noes!" exclaimed Greg, snugging her closer and planting a kiss in her hair.

"No worries," Isabel assured him, tipping her head up and nipping at his bottom lip. "Fortunately there's no pining or wasting away happening here."
