Movies in the Park, 10/25

The portable screen has been set up once again, and people are beginning to stake out their favorite spots. With the weather cooling off, outdoor gas heaters have been set up in various locations around the cinema area.

Bring your date or meet your friends, or just find a quiet place to enjoy a good movie. The film begins at dusk.


[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs. This is the first in a series, which will run every Wednesday until mid-November (barring an unexpectedly cold autumn).]

"That we found that curse before anyone got hurt." She was quiet. "But who knows, if that had happened, maybe Bel would have tried harder to un-soul Angel, and succeeded. Or maybe Darla and Dru would've killed people instead. It's impossible to tell." She looked up at Angela. "What do you wish?"

"About the same," Angela said. "But mostly? I kind of think it shouldn't have been our job. Angelus and Drusilla shouldn't have been here." She sighed. "And I hear what Rory says about Lord Vader, and I do not think the new administration is any better."

"True." Pazrker shuddered. "I just barely caught a glimpse of him, sitting in at the Kappa Kappa Gremlin meeting. He was *not* happy I stopped in to say hi to Seely. He demolished a coffee cup just because a girl was there-- at least, I don't *think* I'd done anything else to piss him off. I left as soon as I could." She swallowed. "I'd like to believe they've got him on a leash, but..."

"But their track record sucks?" Angela said grimly. "I want to stop by and meet him, but it'd be insanely awkward and weird and bad."

"That pretty much covers it," Parker agreed. "Give him a miss. Anything you've heard about him? Probably true, from where I was standing." She shook her head. "I'd like to ask the administration about him, but they hired him. And I don't even have classes with him, so-- it's not like I have any specific concerns." She bit her lower lip. "Just extreme nerves."

Angela dhook her head."MArty talked to Principal Washburn last month anyhow," she said. "Blah blah blah, all rumors, blah blah blah, don't worry. Trust the grown-ups, drink the kool-aid."

"No more than I do," Parker said, looking up at the stars again. "At least with invasions, you know what you're fighting. But people who supposedly *belong* here and don't have our best interests at heart-- that's immeasurably more difficult." She was quiet a minute, and said, "Only option: be ready. Use what we know to stay safe. Know where the weapons are."

"So running away and hiding, not such an option?" Angela asked with a sigh. "But you're right. You're right."

"I'm all for hiding from that guy while the hiding is good. I have no intention of re-taking Ethics anyway. But leaving--" She shook her head. "I told Sam and Isabel that if they needed help, they had it from me. I just wish it didn't feel like Drusilla and Angelus again. I keep wondering what he wants here, aside from Luke. There would *have* to be easier ways to get at him. And he's not even doing anything to him, as far as I've heard."
