Jane shuffled up to the store to discover the sign and a note left by Baldrick.

That's just great. Now she needs to find a new person to manage the store for her while she's ~~drunk~~ away.

All and Sundries is open.

And hiring.

River felt that a visit to Jane was long overdue. And no, she didn't want a job.

"Hey there River girl." Jane greeted her.

"Hello," River said. She was wearing the hat Jane had given her. "Had a fun halloween?"

"Played craps with a nun and a floating skull." Jane mused. "Certainly the most interesting Halloween party I've been too."

"Same here. I've never been to a Halloween party before. What did you dress as?"

"Doris Day."

"Don't know her," River replied. "Did you see the paper bats? I made them. Or rather, I made them out of paper and Aziraphal made them come alive."

"Yes a few of them..." she waved her hands around. "... I think the phrase is 'buzzed' my head. Should'uv known they were yourn, kept going for my hat."

"So how have you been?" River asked. "And oh, have I told you about Blair? He's my boyfriend."

"No you haven't." Jane said smiling. "Does he treat ya good?"

"Yes, he's very sweet. And he doesn't mind that I broke his arm." She looked a bit guilty. "I did apologise."

"Well, that's a good sign." Jane nodded. "But if he gives you any trouble, you let me know."

River didn't think that would be necessary, but she appreciated the concern. "I will. So what have you been doing?" She guessed whatever Jane had been doing a large part of it had involved alcohol.

"Well... Me and the Reverend Jesse rescued The Doctor and some other fella from a crazy man over the weekend." Jane said scratching her neck. "That was exciting."

"Oh," River said. "Yes, it might be." She didn't feel like asking any further about the crazy person.

(ooc: off to bed now!)

"Apparently, we were underwater."

"Oh. That's crazy."

"That's what I said." Jane nodded.

"It wasn't like you were on a submarine or anything?"

"Yeah yeah, sub. That's what they said... We didn't have those to my knowledge where I come from..."

Lizzy can't ring you up, but she's very friendly to people who aren't shoplifters.

Looking for a job?

Shortly after opening, an unassuming man walks into the shop holding the help wanted sign.

"Excuse me?" he says with an Indian accent. (Not that Jane recognizes that's what it is.) "Are you the Jane Canary from the sign?"

"Yeah, that's me." Jane said from behind the counter. "Ya looking for work."

"Oh yes Miss. I certainly am." the man said putting his together. "I have many many years of experience in convenience shopping management."

"Does that mean you can organize as store in a way that lets people find things and can use this thing here?" Jane asked.

"Yes, yes it does."

"Yer hired."

"Oh thank you!" Apu says, "Come again!"

So you know I'm done.
