Our Lady of Fandom; 11/11

After flipping through her big book of religious holidays, Rosette figured that t he date for today was just way too cool to just celebrate something like Martin of Tours.

SATURDAY:
11/11
Make a wish!
If it's gonna come true on any day, this is probably it.

And don't forget to remember your Veterans today, too.

She was willing to convert the baptimal fount into a wishing pool for today and has busied herself in the morning by slicing up lots of long sheets of papers after reading about the Japanese tradition of tying wishes to trees. After that, she went to the graveyard to pluck little American flags (why did they look a little strange, though? Different than she remembered...) into graves she thought or knew to be held by veterans.

While she's in the graveyard

Billy decided today would be a very good day to visit the dead, see if there were any veterans there that might need to be reminded that some appreciated them putting their lives on the line. Even if, really usually they'd had no choice.

Billy smiled back and took the flags. "Hey, yeah that sounds good." he said. "Does it say on their stones or are we guessing?"

Clark stopped by mid morning before his Barbeque (http://mildly-super.livejournal.com/5113.html). He'd long had a habit of lighting a candle on Veteran's day for his father and others.

"Oh yes, it's a tradition of mine on Veteran's Day."
