Caritas, Sunday 11/12/2006

Phoebe had barely gotten back from the field trip before running straight to Caritas to cover the Sunday shift like GOB had asked her to.

She wasn't thrilled to see that the female zombie was still there, and now the sound system was apparently playing really emo songs... over and over again.

Bel was there, even though it wasn't Phoebe's usual shift.

Alec waited at the bar for Dean to show up, after the last text message had assured him Dean would come bearing gifts.

When he got a feeling Dean would be around soon, he ordered a second beer for himself and a third for Dean, then waited some more.

Dean had detoured to the school long enough to dump most of his stuff off save for the bag for Alec then headed down to Caritas.

He spotted Alec as soon as he came in and slid into the seat obviously being saved for him. "Hey," he said with a grin, reaching for the beer Alec had ordered for him.

"Hey," Alec greeted, grinning back. "Got good news and even better news. Which do you want first?"

"Why don't you start with the good news and work your way up?" Dean suggested. He put the bag down on the floor by his feet. He'd hand it over when the time was right.

"Good news is, I'm still roommate-less." Alec sipped his beer, eyes darting downwards in the direction of the bag, but said nothing about it yet. "Even better news is, I won something."

"Yeah?" Dean leaned forward, elbows resting on the edge of the table. "What did you win?"

"Swoop bike race," Alec said triumphantly. "All four of us that have them decided to put 'em up against each other."

"Cool." Dean grinned and raised his beer in a toast. Leaning closer he added, "Transgenic reflexes come through again?"

"You know it," he said, looking smug. "Sam was second, then Molly and Cam. It was a good day." He gave Dean a look to indicate he considered his double returning to be a part of that.

"Sorry I missed it," Dean said, returning the look. "I probably could've made some money betting on you."

"Probably," Alec said, shrugging slightly. "I think everyone else was betting on Molly."

He lifted a foot and nudged Dean's leg gently. "So how was the rest of your trip?"

Dean grinned. "Dude, you would not believe the night I had last night," he began, nudging Alec's leg back. "So we let Bel pick the entertainment and ended up at this topless vampire sex show thing. Which would've been a good night on its own -- especially watching Blair's reaction to topless girls. But then they pulled us up onstage, and eventually took us back stage, groping and hanging all over us. Night's getting better right?" Dean paused for dramatic effect. "That's when I noticed the chick groping me was way too cold to be human."

"Ew," Alec said, eyes wide as he listened. "So what happened?"

"I splashed some holy water on her to doublecheck I wasn't imagining things -- which I wasn't. She didn't like being burned much and attacked me, trying to scratch my eyes out or something. He held up his arm and slid his sleeve back to show the bandage. "That's when I got this. So I tossed some holy water right in her face and in the face of her friend who decided to join in and went to rescue the oblivious triplets."

Alec grinned. "I'll bet they loved that. They didn't notice anything weird at all? Seriously?"

"Dude, Anders had one buried fangs deep in his neck when I got to him and he didn't clue in until she went all dusty when I staked her. Blair at least thought they were real vampires -- because that's what Bel told him to get him to the show in the first place -- but he just kinda stood there talking as a vamp tried to find his neck through all that hair. And Bel..." Dean grinned wider and leaned closer as he lowered his voice to continue the story. "Bel had let himself be trussed up in chains from the ceiling and had two vamps snacking on him and even that hadn't pinged his 'maybe I'm in over my head' common sense."

"Wow." Alec's grin didn't waver, leaning in closer to listen though he didn't need to at all. "He was bitten and he still didn't realize?

"Nope. The powers of observation were not strong with this group."

Alec glanced at Dean's arm, then arched an eyebrow. "How'd you guys get out?"

"Dusted all the vamps then cut Bel down and left. It really wasn't that hard," Dean said, although there was a hint of pride in his voice. "They weren't expecting their meal to fight back."

"How bad they get you?" He asked, prodding gently at Dean's arm above the bandage. "Not going to wake up in a coffin anytime soon, I hope?"

"Just some scratches," Dean assured him. "Nails, not fangs. I cleaned them with holy water, just to be safe."

"Just so long as I know," Alec said, shrugging nonchalantly before he glanced downwards. "So I noticed you brought a bag. Got something interesting in it?"

Dean smirked. "Mayyyybe," he teased. "Someone mentioned wanting souvenirs and since I cleaned up at the poker tables Friday night...."

Alec lit up, pleased to have been thought of. "Okay, give, what'd you buy for me?"

"Well you asked for a showgirl so..." Dean leaned down and pulled out a Showgirl Barbie and handed it to Alec. There was still obviously other things in the bag as well.

He looked the doll over, frowning slightly, and finally gave Dean a look full of reproach. "If this doesn't get bigger or somehow make Sam unhappy, I'm declaring disappointment."

"It was pretty much the biggest showgirl I had a chance of getting in my luggage," Dean said, smiling a little at Alec's reaction. He bent down and picked up the bag, handing it to Alec. "Maybe you'll like the rest better."

Alec practically dove into the bag, rooting around a moment before emerging with a pack of sleek, high quality markers. "Dude!" He grinned widely at Dean. "These are awesome!"

"Figured you could use them on that scrapbook of yours," Dean said, grinning at his double. "There's more in there too, though I'm not if it's something that would interest you..."

Curious, Alec rummaged around and came up with a coloring book, followed by a second, and another wide, sunny grin. "Whoa, cool. I never had one of these before."

"Yeah, I kinda figured. Better late than never,huh?" He nudged Alec's leg.

Practically bouncing in his seat, Alec nudged Dean with an elbow, leaning into him a bit as he flipped through one of the books with his wide grin still in place. "Yeah, totally."

"Now we get to see if you're the type to colour inside the lines or not," Dean teased, nudging him back again.

"Only when I want to," Alec said, nose in the air haughtily.

"Somehow that answer doesn't surprise me," Dean said dryly, reaching out and playfully pushing Alec's head -- and his nose -- back down.

Alec snickered, ducking his head under Dean's hand. "Maybe I'll do it if you ask me nice."

"Nah," Dean said, smiling at him. "Colour however you want -- that's half the fun of colouring books." Another nudge. "Doesn't mean I won't be nice to you for other things though."

"Uh-huh?" Alec leered, moving to nudge but ending with just leaning into Dean comfortably. ~~Personal space, what?~~
