Caritas - Tuesday Evening

Jane opens Caritas while the Zombie band rocks out.

It was a zombie jamboree
Took place in the Fandom cemetery

Zombies from all parts of the island
Some of them are great Calypsonians
Since the season was carnival
They got together in bacchanal
And they were singing

In one hand she's holding a quart of rum
The other hand is knocking a conga drum

Leo walks in, hears the music, and begins to dance.

Jane is standing behind the bar cleaning a glass with a bar rag. Because that's what bartenders do.

Leo gets it out of his system, for now and makes his way to the bar. "Hey man." he greets.

Jane is used to being mistaken for a man, it doesn't bother her any more.

"Howdy." She says. "Name's Jane. What's yer name and what's yer drink?"

"Pleased to meet ya man." Leo said. It's what he called everyone really. Until he got on really good terms with them. "I'm Leo, and what've you got man?"

"You name it, we got it."

Wow, choices. Hmmm... "Guess I'm not in too fancy a mood tonight. Just a rum and coke I think."

Jane got out a glass and the Drink Gun Thing she was overly amused by.

"You sir, are in luck. As rum and coke is my es-pes-see-ality."

"Far out." Leo smiled, pleased. He looked back at the band. "They look pretty strung out man."

Jane glanced over at the band.

"Oh don't even get me fuckin' started." She muttered. "You're new in town I would venture to guess?"

"Yeah that's right man." Leo nodded. "I just got here about....not long ago."

"Well, I ain't exactly an ol'timer but trust me. Don't worry about those cocksuckers on the stage, they always look like that."

"Wow they must be into some heavy stuff."

"Ah nah. If they try to lift anything heavier than their instruments... they just fall to pieces... I mean literally."

Leo, didn't quite get it. "Woah, that's a bummer man."

"That means it's bad right? 'Cause you ain't fucking kidding if it does. Who ya think gotta fuckin' put those cocksuckers back together? Well, on Tuesdays, I gotta fucking do. And you think that stops 'em from pulling all kinds of shit that makes 'em fall apart? Oh fuck no."

Leo stared for a minute as everything she said sunk in. "Woah you mean literally literally Man?"

Oh yeah, new guy.

"Yeah." She said. "... This ain't yer normal type of fucking community in case ya didn't have a chance to notice."

"Things've seemed pretty normal so far man." Because bartenders dressed like a cowboy were all over the place.

"Well, good. Welcome to the neighborhood." Jane said smiling.

"Thanks man it's a nice place you've got here."

"We aim to please."

You know the lead singer starts to make his rhyme
While the other zombie is rockin' in time

One bystander, he had this to say
"It was a trip to see the zombies break away"
