Tino looked hopeful, but Jane set a bottle and a shotglass down in front of The Doctor.

The Doctor eyed the shotglass for a second. "If we're going to talk, we'll need two of these."

Jane is already holding a second shot glass, which is already full.

So she empties it and sets it down.

"One step ahead of you Doc."

The Doctor chuckled, and poured himself and Jane shots.

"Do you want this short and simple?"

The Doctor took his own shot and made a bit of a face.

"I've died eight times," he said. "Each one of those other Doctor's was me, before each death."

"... Short? Yes." Jane said tossing back her shot and slamming it down on the counter. "Simple? Not ay-fuckin-zactly... So yer like some of 'em Chinese who think yer soul is born again after you die?"

The Doctor poured fresh shots. "No. My body simply... fixes itself, afterwards. And that leads to a new face, new body, slightly new attitude on life."

That caused him to take the shot. He poured a fresh one. "I was a bit out of sorts, then. Rather... snog happy." He giggled a little. The alcohol was starting to get to him.

An errant thought about that Limey Cocksucker who ran the Gem, and if he ever "snogged" anybody wasn't whoring for him, ran through her head.

Then a replay of the first conversation she ever had with the Doctor and the eight three on screen, five off other times she had the exact same conversation followed that thought.

The Doctor held up the bottle, and his shot glass. "Which of these is bigger?" he asked.

The Doctor wandered away a bit down the bar set down the bottle, and walked back. He held up the shot glass in front of where he set the bottle, blocking the view of it. "Which is bigger?"

"Ah, but right now, the shot glass seems bigger. So, if you could keep the bottle that far away and bring it here, it would fit in the shot glass. That's how the TARDIS is bigger on the inside than the out."

"I know, makes no sense," the Doctor said, sliding down to bring back the bottle. "But that's how it works. Another?" He poured himself a new shot.
