Jamie really isn't working. He's actually using the store phone for long distance phone calls to a small school for gifted youngsters.

He'll pay the store back. Honest.

A little girl in a short whispy blue dress and bear feet pushes open the door and starts flouncing around like a bumble bee on crack. Mary enters not long after.

"Oooh! What sort of store is this?"

"The sell music my dear."

"Oh! Electra loves music!"

Jamie was just finishing up a conversation with someone either by the name of "Scott" or "Dick" when Marty and the girl walks in.

"Hi. Welcome to Empire Records. How may I help you today?"

"Hello! I want to get my sister some music for Christmas, she's super serious and always stays home to take care of our youngest sibling. Could you suggest something?"

"Well that depends? Does she like classical? Rock? Rap? Indie? Would you like some kiddie music for the youngest sibling she looks after?" Jamie asekd.

Jamie might as well have been speaking Yiddish, Maia didn't understand a word of what he just asked. She looked at Mary and giggled a little.

"Not Rap, or anything with explicit lyrics." Mary suggested. "I suppose 'Indie' or 'Classic Rock' would do..."

Mary wasn't fond of such music herself, but practically perfect people don't let their own proclivities from getting in the way of good gift giving.

"Okay then," Jamie said walking to the listening station and bringing up various albums. "Let's cue up so music for you to check out then."

"Oh I get to listen!" the girl said skipping over to Jamie. "What do I do? How does it work?"

Jamie looked at her weirdly for a second before handing her the earphones. "Just put these over your ears and listen. When you want to go to the next song just press that button."

Maia picked up the headphones, which were huge in comparison to her, and put them on.

"Oooh! What's this called?"

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. By Iron Butterfly," Jamie replied.

"It's very... reverberate-y." Maia said. "I think this might be better for Father."

"Try this," Jamie said switching over to a random Rolling Stones tune.

"You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need." she sang along after a while.

"Oh that's nice, yes, I think she'd like that."

"Okay. Did you want the album with this first song too?" Jamie asked heading toward the register.

"Oh yes, Father gets so bored working all the time, I think he'll really like it!"

"Good," Jamie said ringing up the sale. "That'll be 27.99"

Mary pays the bill.

"Thank you very much..." Maia chimes. "Hey... Do you have a brother or something?"

"Or something," Jamie said with wry grin. "Why do you ask?"

"Ever since Mary Poppins moved here I've been following the radio goings on for a while, and you seem to be around a lot, it's hard to keep track! Which is a shame because you and your brother are funny."
