Caritas Thursday, December 21

The zombies are in a festive mood and are happily launchiing into Christmas carols at random times.

Trouble is, they don't know all of the words.

Trouble is, they're making up their own words for those they don't know.

Ah well. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Tequila" could become the next big hit of the holiday season.

Caritas is open.

Dr. Venture seemed... happy today.

He even looked Phoebe in the eyes when he sat down. "I'll have a Rob Roy, but feel free to take your time," he said.

Bel was there, being the usual over-protective boyfriend.

For some reason, now having two bottles of excellent brandy made Rosette even more weary about wasting them unless it was a special occational or an emergency. And you couldn't really beat atmosphere, either.

Parker got a Diet Coke with lime from Tino, waved to Phoebe, then settled into wait for Harper.

"Parker," Harper grinned as he took a seat next to her.

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Harper," Parker said, smiling back at him as she sipped her drink. "Aww. You're wearing a shirt."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I can always change that if you want."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Parker dimpled back at him, and said, "Maybe next time. We already did that, after all. So, are you staying in Fandom through Christmas?"

She'd left Jarod's necklace off, because it felt weird to wear it on a date with another guy. But she was still conscious of it, back in her room.

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the plan," Harper said. "What about yourself?"

"I leave for Athens very early Sunday morning. Then L.A., probably Wednesday or so. I'll be back right after New Year's at the latest, I think." She stirred her drink with the straw, and said, "Should be fun, I have friends in L.A. If they don't kill each other while I'm there. Which is a different kind of fun."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Your friends want to kill each other?" Harper asked. "Sounds like Tyr and ...well, everybody."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Tyr?" Parker cocked her head, and said, "It's a classic demented love triangle. Except no one's in love with anyone any more."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Big, bad Nietzschean with a chip on his shoulder," Harper said. "How can you have a love triangle without love?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
"One person's crazy, and still hung up on her ex; thinks the ex is boffing his houseboy when he's not; and the ex has a mild crush on the houseboy, who's okay with that but very straight. Love, by a very warped definition, maybe." Parker shook her head. "I'm taking popcorn to watch them try not to kill each other. Relationships shouldn't be that-- complicated." She took a quick drink to hide her sudden awareness of double-talk. "So, a Nietzschean would be...?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't know what a Nietzschean is? Lucky you."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Parker smirked back, and leaned her head on her hand, trying to relax. "Tell me how lucky I am. And tell me how you know this Tyr guy, then."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Nietzschean? They're a genetically modified human subspecies," Harper said. "The ubers have got some major superiority complexes, it's not pretty to be a garden variety human in Nietzschean space. As for how I know Tyr, it's kinda a long story."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Then we should save it for sometime when we get stuck somewhere together," Parker said solemnly. "Although they don't sound like bright cheerful fun. Evil vampires without bloodsucking, maybe?" She took a long sip of her drink, then rolled her eyes as the zombie band broke into We Wish You A Pina Colada. "When did they start drinking, I wonder?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Harper shook his head. "Nah, that'd be the Magog. The Nietzschean's might've been the worst, but that's because the're human."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
"So you think humans can be the most cruel?" Parker asked, intrigued. She leaned closer. "How so?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Harper was momentarily distracted by Parker's cleavage. "I'm from Earth," he said. "We've had a lot of basis for comparisons."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
Parker smirked as his gaze wandered, and said, "I don't know whether to be proud or depressed. Humans, still the number one villains of the galaxy." She raised an eyebrow. "So what else are we the best at?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Harper grinned. Broadly.

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, we've got our good points."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
"So. Tell me about yours." Parker smile grew wicked. "What would your friends say the best thing about Seamus Zelazny Harper is?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm a mechanical genius."

So, so humble, wasn't he?

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Genius, hunh?" Parker cocked a skeptical eyebrow. "I've heard that one before. So, you've got special skills?" She dipped the lime out of her drink, and then laid it aside before taking a long slurp on her straw.

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
"A few," Harper nodded. "And I am a genius."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
"You mentioned bombs before. Is that what you're into? Mass destruction?" Parker leaned her chin on her hand, studying him closely. "Or creation?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Both," Harper said. "I wish you could meet Rommie. I made her, well, her body."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Her eyes widened. "Her? Is this a ship, or a computer of some kind?" Boys and their toys. Small wonder they were always 'she.'

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Rommie?" Harper had a dreamy expression on his face. "She's not just a ship, she's the ship."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:42 am (UTC)(link)
Parker grinned; the dreamy look was cute, and maybe he wasn't boasting *too* much. "So, when would I get to meet her, do you think? Or is she in the future somewhere?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
Harper shook his head. "She's in the future, I miss her though, and the rest of the crew."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
"A shame. I'd like to see something you'd worked on. Judge for myself." Parker trailed the toe of one shoe up the side of his calf, expression innocent. "But maybe you can show me something else, sometime?"

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
Harper grinned. "Well, I have a workshop back at the apartments."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Perfect," Parker murmurred, eyes bright. "Next time, your place, then? I'd like to see what you're capable of."

Because three months was too damn long, he was cute, he was sane, he seemed smart, and worse things had started from an impulse. She smiled at him, happy and bright. "Unless you require mechanical genius? I'm afraid my fields are more linguistics and dance."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] theharperisgood.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Harper smiled back. "Oh, no, no, I'm a very big fan of cunning linguists."

Re: The Bar [12/21]

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-12-22 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Parker chortled and licked a drop of cola from her lips. "How funny. So am I."
